  This was my 'Sign'

  in my previous post i mentioned that i'm staying in the org because i think i got a sign from god...some of you asked a lot of questions about my sign and even shared the society's view on asking for signs which i didn't know.. i didn't disclose exactly what the sign was.. some of you asked me what it was and even stated that i know that you all would pick apart and prove that my sign was just a frivolous excuse to hold on to the org.. maybe you were right.. so i've decided to tell you all exactly what it was---no embellishments or exaggerations.

  i would love to hear your opinions since i'm still in a terrible mess.sometimes i'm 100% this is not the truth then other times i'm 60%....i feel if god was giving me a sign i'd be 100% this is the truth you know?.

  so i woke up that morning and organized to go meeting.

  4 years ago I was sitting alone in my back yard in the dark of the night. I was looking up at the stars meditating about my relationship with God. At that very moment there was a shooting star and automatically the thought of making a wish came to my mind...right away I wished I won a substantial amount of money. Of course as a JW I immediately felt guilty for having this thought. A few months later I was given a free lotto ticket with the purchase of a meal at McDonalds, ticket that I put in the glove compartment of my car with my gas receipts...a few weeks later I found the ticket and checked it only to find out I had won $50K! Was it a sign from God or was it Satan putting me to the test? At that time I was a MS and any publicity on my winning this money would have me disqualified for my privileges and I was considering forfiting the prize...but there was a loophole. On the back of the tickets the rules are both in English and French (Canada) and with the French rules I was able to claim the price by mail without having an interview or have my name or picture published in the news paper and remain a MS....was it a sign from God or Satan?

  During the same time I lost my job after almost 30 years at the same company...I prayed God to help me find a new job and a few days later I found a better job...God had listened to me...but that job had me travel all over the world and I missed many meetings...and started falling away from the faith....was it a trap from Satan?

  You see MsGG20 you can see signs into in every event...and they can lead to many conclusions...but these events are random...not from God or Satan...One thing is for sure: facts are facts and if you found out that the WTS lies or falsly prophecied, protected pedophiles then no "imaginary" signs can change that.

  once I was driving a sister home and she was sitting in the front right seat. we crossed an elders wife on the way and the sister attempted to hide because she was afraid to be seen in the car withwithb me. i asked her what's wrong with that? she said that everyone would hear about it and rumors about us would start going around...wtf

  Watchtower's April 9 BOE Confidentiality Letter - Child Abuse - Did Jane Doe lawsuit play a major part?

  i'd bet my left.... pinky toe that the wt's monster 4/9 confidentiality letter was put out as a direct result of the jane doe/candace vs wt case as they were preparing to go to trial.

  there had already been a year of legal proceedings - surely the wt knew the shit was about to hit the fan.. thanks goes to atlantis for posting the boe letters originally as pdfs.

  the person that a restraining order is a personal legal matter that does not involve the congregation.. thereafter, the elders should call the legal department immediately for direction..

  i have been reading comments on jvn, huffington, san jose mercury, nbc, and other sources.

  I told my (unbaptized) son and he had no reaction...it was like he wasn't hearing it. I guess like most JWs all negative news against the WT are lies made up by apostates...reported by media controlled by Satan...

  How does a congregation handle being found guilty in a lawsuit?

  as in the current oakland, california case, since the congregation must vote on expenditures and pay on such rulings, is there any announcement concerning the specific case and rulings?

  are the elders removed to make it look like it was their blunder.

  any real info along with wild speculations would be welcome..

  How can one continue as an elder after having kept quiet while a sexual predator was roaming freely in his congregation...Of course he will get the WTS support for being a company man...but how can you look at anyone in the eye and not feel shame. It would be like knowing that your best friend brings his children to a daycare centre run by a pedophile...but you don't say anything in fear that the pedophile may sue you for lost business...Then after his kids have been molested, your friend finds out you knew all along but kept quiet...wtf

  i was shocked ( though i probably shouldn't have been ) when reading the new elders manual concerning whether elders have to confess up about former sins from a few years earlier.

  notice this on pg.

  38 , paragraph 19 : it states, " if it comes to light or an appointed brother confesses that he has committed a disfellowshipping offense years in the past : the body of elders may determine he can continue to serve if the following is true : the immorality or other serious wrongdoing occured more than a few years ago, and he is genuinely repentant, recognizing that he should have come forward immediately when he sinned.

  Isn't the Organized book only given to those who are dedicated or close to dedication? If I remember well this book contains the 100 questions you need to review before baptism...You get your own printed copy and there is a space to write your name and date of dedication...This may explain why this book isn't on the CD...

  Help! I'm having serious thoughts about going back

  hello old friends, i've been thinking about going back and need you all to give me your thoughts on it.. the last year has been a horribe one for me, in the span of less than a year the following things have happened to me:.

  lost my mom to cancergot hit by a carhad a professional set back that will cost over 600k to resolveended a three and a half year relationshipit just feels like every time i think things are going to get better something else hits me and knocks me down, a small part of me wonders wether i brought all these things on myself because i left the organization (yes i know how silly that sounds) and i have given serious thought about going back.

  i need you guys to talk me out of it!.

  During my most active period as a JW I lost my dad and 5 of my closest friends within a 5 year period. The company I worked for close our division and lost a 6-figure job after over 25 years of service...The comfort I got from the congregation was "suck it up" and keep busy in service so you won't have time to feel sorry for yourself...don't you believe in the resurection? Everyday morning on my way to a new job that Jehovah blessed me with I was hoping to get killed in a car accident so I wouldn't have to live another day in pain...where was the big Armagedon when you need it? Then when I was told that the generation was really generationsssss, I left the cult. My life is far from being perfect, but the freedom has made every new day worth living. There is no situation that would ever make me want to go back under the control of such a cult.
