Me and sleeping beauty are from the UK and we were burnt out after 10 years or more of full time work and meeting etc.. Sleeping beauty worked for the home office and I was a support engineer for secret high level government comms GCHQ and MI5 etc, We were on loads of money and paying over a £1000 per month to a JW child minder ! My family who are still in told us to quit our government jobs as the end was so closeThis was back in 1995. Throwing out literature left in public places

i have done it for years for wts literature.

i am not talking about something that's someone's property, like a library book, just literature left on benches and such.. today i saw a tract saying, "why am i here?

bang out of order seems to have made a couple of posters laugh on here, as they had never heard it before.. it's wierd for me because it's a saying i have always heard/used...good old british slang.. it means that what someone has said is hurtful and unacceptable.. some slang terms from where i come from in the ''black country''.. up the wooden hills - go to bed.

i have been an avid reader on this site for a few years and have weighed in on a few topics and introduced a few more without introducing myself.

for this i apologise.

the main reason for my reticence is that being a second generation born in but having been baptised in the 50s i will find it difficult to make an introduction without giving the game away.

My JW dad turned down a job offer in 1974 because he was told by the borg the end was coming in 1975 The job was a one in a lifetime offer that would have seen his family all be well off for money now if he had took the job at Digital Computers way back in the 1970's. He was a fool and spent all his time preaching the end was coming in 1975, but sod all happened and the job offer was gone My dad never made anything of himself always doing labouring jobs till he retired. Now he is in his 70's with no money in the bank and a family that's been split in two by his choice to become a witness way back in the 1960's Well done dad and I hope never to see you again

based on certain families who i've known personally in the "truth", there was infidelity which resulted in children out of wedlock, drug abuse, abortion (involving an elder's teenager), verbal, emotional, & physical abuse (by parents and spouses), and dependence on public assistance.

Yes they are! I come from a family who were so close but now are so far apart there may be no fixing it. My dad was a person ripe for the JW's conversion tactics back in the 1960's. MY dad was a drunk and mom was a physco. Dad got roped in and that was it we were doomed to a life of complete lies for over 40 years! WTBTS was our life as 1 of 5 kids and a dad who was a stern man and even beat his wife when he got to much lip from her Well I have now seen the light and left this cult with my wife and kids and we are so much happier than before doing all the WT crap.

I have to add that as a family we are on our own now as all but 1 brother has anthing to do with us. My dad has cut us off cuz we dont go meeting anymore he can only dream what his 4 grand kids look like now after 12 months of no contact cuz of these arseholes at the WTBTS. I will name my dad as he has pissed me so much by been a wt man and choosing them over his own family... my mom would have not stud for this horse shit but he has So here is his name Thomas Ryan and he goes to the Kingshurst cong in the west midlands UK ! i don't even know where to start.

every jw i still have contact with is poor, their health is bad, they're stressed out, they're unhappy people.

they put on a good front but you can see the strained smiles, those distant looks into nowhere (or where their life could have gone).
