i know it's kind of long, but i feel i compressed a lot of information into it.
any suggestions or constructive criticism?.
same here... can't find your doc...
i would appreciate it if anyone could tell me when the magazines (wt and awake!
) were first published in spanish.. thanks..
Good question... I've been meaning to ask this question for some time... please PM me if you find out (in case I forget to go back to this post)... thanks...
can demons travel through my internet connection?.
During a service meeting about 2 years ago, an pioneer elder (who had been milking workman comp benefits for an alleged back injury) gave a "needs" talk about the internet... I remember him saying something like: "If Satan and his demons can get inside a human brain, they can easily get into computer as well" (or words to that effect)... I remember thinking: "how incredibly ridiculous".
i noticed this last night:.
page 33, paragraph 5 - page 34 of the "benefiting from theocratic ministry school education" book says: .
"convincing calls for giving reasons why a thing is so, including presentation of evidence.
Don'tPlaceLiterature... good catch! thanks!
the social networks facebook , twitter, youtube, etc.
are valuable tools in creating the energy to incite apostates of the watchtower org.
to come out and protest and expose the cover-ups, the child molesters, the shunning and breaking up of families going on in the jehovah's witness religion.. the protest saturday june 25th 2011 from 7 am until 1 pm in front of the pepsi coliseum in quebec city against the watchtower is getting lots of attention on the internet.. protesters are now able to organize and and reach millions of people who have been hurt by this destructive cult.. jean-philippe cossette founder and webmaster of www.watchowerlies.com.
Rick... I'm sure you have the best of intentions but it appears that you're losing credibility rather quickly with your sensationalism and exaggerations... I must say, it's rather off-putting.
You haven't lost all credibility yet, but you really need to take it down a few notches if you want to reach a wider audience... IMHO
i study with a highly esteemed pioneer & elder's kid and i've learned on here that pioneers are right up there when it comes to gossip, as are elders kids, so i've got a double whammy.
unfortunately i didn't learn that until after i'd trusted her.
call me a moron but i'm totally drawn in by the kindness.
"But you're doing so well" = what made you become a Satan-influenced trouble-maker all of a sudden?
so i was talking to one of my jw family members and they have been really trying to get me to come back.
they believe that they are part of the only true religion.
one of the reasons was because of them being the only religion that is being persecuted they claimed and somewhere in texas or some where in the midwest or something a memorial was raided by a group of people and i guess they planned at a football game or something?
Deservingone...
Since Rutherford took over in 1916, the WT has been seeking out ways to fit the mold found in Mat 5:10 and 1Tim 3:12 so they can get on the soap box and claim their spot as the only persecuted religion... but they would do this only when it doesn't cost them anything. For example, in Malawi brothers were coerced by the WT leadership into refusing political party affiliation ID cards so their wifes and daughters could get beat up and raped (then they could use them as examples of faith in assembly talks whenever productivity and donations declined)... whereas Mexican brothers were allowed to bribe government officials to obtain a military service compliance card (since the WT didn't want to make any waves in Mexico and lose their right to purchase and flip real estate).
But as JWFacts and Possible-San just pointed out, many churches around the world have suffered persecution as well... some even more so then the Jehovah's Witnesses. So the WT needs to sit down and take a number before claiming this spot...
that was the biggest piece of propaganda garbage that i ever seen in my life !!!!!!!
in literally all 28 years of my life!!!!!!!.
i dont want to spoil it for anyone, so i wont mention what they didnt mention...but basically, they made themselves look like victims.. but of course, they did mention persecution, the new world translation of the holy scriptures(because jehovah's name had cruelly been taking out of the bible by the corrupt religious leaders), and the biblically based arrangement of the governing body.. i'm in utter shock .
I haven't seen it yet... waiting for my "insider" to get me the actual DVD... but with Ray not around anymore, I'm sure they went to town on the editing...
one of the many questions that i am asked is what are the current gb members like, who are the hardliners and who are more moderate.. because of my previous job, at a european bethel, i had dealings with most of them with the exception of sam herd.. these are my observations of my conversations with them and how others who had dealings with them.. other ex bethelites may have contrary views to mine, but i would be surprised.. i had spent a lot of time with splane, lett and morris.
hardliners.
david splane, without doubt the one who commands the most respect and attention.
Early last year Anthony Morris and David Splane were in Puerto Rico where we had a strange and pointless 2-hour assembly in a coliseum... there was a lot of buzz about this (since GB visits to Puerto Rico are extremely rare), so everyone thought a special announcement was going to be made about major changes... but this assemby just left everyone asking: "what was that all about?"
Anyway, Anthony Morri made some puzzling comments about field service... at one point, he even asked the audience: "Who here likes to get up early on Saturdays and go to Field Service?" Less than 10% of the audience raised their hands... He then said: "Wow, that many? I commend you... I sure don't like doing it." I immediately looked around and noticed everyone looking at each other in astonishment... very bizarre moment. He then realized he put his foot in his mouth and started back-peddling by explaining how difficult Field Service has become in these "last days"... I really felt like yelling out: "Tell that to the brothers in Malawi"...
