SBC, Do you think you will get any nasty phone calls from anyone for going to the wedding knowing full well you were going to be DF'd? Just wondering. I know the judgemental ones will really scoff and think you were super bad for exposing their angelic souls to your demonic aura and all...just sayin.

The new house...
by Aussie Oz inwell, time for an update.... new house is in the country, just over an hour out of the city.
we came up and camped in the new house on settlement night...much to the shock of the real estate agent who thought we were joking!
i mean, it does need some work, and the plumbing is dodgy but works, the bathroom has all the pipes exposed and the toilet is akin to sitting in an old shed.... any way, we stay and a friend loaded up the truck saturday night and delivered our furniture sunday morning, it was not a rest saturday though as the place resembled a rubbish tip.

I am so sorry you had such a big blow-out. That really puts a damper on things, and no one likes the tension and bad feelings. But being married, I am sure you are used to those from time to time. I think most people do get in big fights even once in a while.
Depending who has a certain temperment, it is expected for someone to fly off the handle. What I do not understand is that your wife is pretty liberal from what you have said. So now is she recoiling back to super duper holiness? When I quit the KH, my H at the time went all holy on me.
I think from the comments you made, you love your wife a great deal, she might be angry now, but she will come to her senses and not want to lose her family. My H even said at one point that even if I am an unbeliever he still wanted to be married...but then he changed his mind. What is she going to do? Divorce you, and then be single the rest of her life? If she is a JW she can't have sex outside of marriage. That is just silly for her to do that, especially if you guys do have a good relationship worth saving.
Do you guys ever get a break from the kids? I am guessing you took them with you to Maui. Traveling with little ones can be really difficult and stressful. I do agree that you need to appeal to the stuff that chicks like. Be a great hubbster to her, and she will listen and respect you more. Us gals, and maybe guys too, find it easier to throw in the towel when we have no respect for the other person. Hang in there!!

Facebook privacy settings are crucial to control your info!!
by WingCommander ini just thought i'd start this topic about facebook privacy settings as i am seeing it come up on here and other forums a lot where you have people who are on facebook and then their jw family or friends are requesting to be friends with them and they don't know what to do!!
we are hearing it time and time again: you "friended" some jw family member, long-ago pioneer partner, etc, etc.
that person then goes through your facebook profile and sees everything you've written, your photos of you and your new life including holidays, partners, worldly activities, etc, etc.

I need to research this more. All of my dubbies de-friended me, but you never know who can see something by accident.

by bez inmy husband had another 'phone call' last night from the congregation po... the conversation went something like this..... po " i do not want to put words into your mouth but are you saying you no longer want to be recognised as a jw?".
hubby " i am not making that statement no... cut to the chase what are you getting at".
po " i have been informed you celebrated (child) birthday".

WOW, that is crazy. I probably am going to get some visits or calls soon too as my ex (active Jdub) knows I celebrated my DD's bday now. It almost makes me giggle if they DF me for that. I have the elder's numbers programed on my cell phone still, so if they call, caller ID should set me off...maybe.
Keep us updated, this is so crappy.
If it makes you feel better, my mom has nothing to do with me also.

i often wonder if the borg have any clue as to what that really means.
it's bad enough that they stick thier noses into your personal beliefs, but it's even worse when they nose into your personal business that has nothing to do with belief.. case in point: my mother would get into my face anytime she found out about any run-ins i had with traffic cops, be it speeding, using a radar detector, fender benders, etc.

I actually had a sister pull me aside once and tell me that she could see through my dress and could even see my underwear. I had on a yellow dress, AND a slip that was skin color, and the same flesh tone underwear, so I do not see how in the world she could tell that. All women know if you wear flesh tone under garments, that it is almost impossible to see through clothing, so I am not sure what that was about. She was the type to put a scarf over her knees so when she sat down, her knee caps would not turn on any brothers working the mikes.
