  My adorable 5 year son explaining the meaning of life

  i asked my son quite randomly before bed what he thinks the meaning of life is.

  like always, his answer brought a smile to my face.

  he said, "to have a great time .. to have fun and have friends ... and be happy.

  this website summarizes some of the common features of descriptions of the behavior of sociopaths.. glibness and superficial charmmanipulative and conning .

  they never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible.

  According to one example in Steve Hassan's book "Combatting Cult Mind Control' a man suffered from his participation in a dangerous cult that was misdiagnosed by medical professionals in a foreign country as some psychological disorder, so I would not doubt that JWs cult personas could have attributes similar to sociopaths.

  A former JW friend did exhibit traits that mimiced what could almost be considered a dual personality as well as rationalize her behavior to not pay others for services rendered.

  How will WTBTS turn growth around

  i know sometimes i can come across as an opologist.

  i just can't seem to help myself, and i do apologize.

  i had a thought on how could the wtbts turn their fortunes around to reducing the out flow, and getting a more positive growth of publishers, particularly in western lands.

  Hi joe134cd, I agree with what others have said that the GB and leaders of the WTBTS are stuck in a rut and what is worse they are a dangerous cult. The WTBTS will continue to increase their numbers by lowering requirements to be pioneers and publishers, and increase efforts to recruit non-English speaking people.

  The WTBTS will also try to improve their marketing efforts on the internet with better webstie design and videos, but that will probably back-fire on them as they encourage JWs to use tablets and computers. The only good thing about the WTBTS going digital is it will allow them to revise their publications as needed and more efficiently. Read how the WTBTS revised its 1989 Watchtower propaganda of how the preaching work will endi after the 20th Century on JWFacts 20th Century.

  Welcome back chellechellereturns, I'm sorry that your JW family is being so manipulative. For your son's emotional well-being I hope that you are able to establish boundaries that your JW family will honor like no preaching to your son or reading WTBTS propaganda to him.

  If you are unable to reach an agreement with your JW family that protects your son's and your human rights, I would recommend that you read Steve Hassan's books (i.e., "Combatting Cult Mind Control", "Releasing the Bonds: Empowering People to Think for Themselves", and (his latest book) "Freedom of Mind: Helping Loved Ones Leave Controlling People, Cults and Beliefs"), visit his website www.freedomofmind.com, and/or watching his videos on his website.

  Finished Crisis of Conscience Recently

  well i finally got around to finishing crisis of conscience.

  2 things stood out to me most.. 1. the fact that the gb can question beliefs and noone else can.. 2. strangly the most disturbing fact- its a small one- but actually made the biggest impression on me out of the whole book-.

  the fact that they agreed to send him a copy of his meeting tapes and then refused and admitted in writing that they lied.. obviously there was much more that i got from it and i do find franz situation unique in that he had a whole support system outside of the "truth" and most today including myself have nothing- if i leave my wife hates me, my family wont talk to me, etc- it doesnt provide any solution for that scenario.. any thoughts on the above points- let me know.

  Hi wallievase, I don't feel that Raymond Franz was trying to provide others with solutions to leaving the WTBTS when he wrote "Crisis of Conscience". I feel like he was the child in the crowd shouting that the Emperor is not wearing any clothes.

  If you are looking for solutions to your situation, I would recommend that you read Steve Hassan's books (i.e., "Combatting Cult Mind Control", "Releasing the Bonds: Empowering People to Think for Themselves", and/or (his latest book) "Freedom of Mind: Helping Loved Ones Leave Controlling People, Cults or Beliefs"), visit his website www.freedomofmind.com, or watch his videos on his website. Another inexpensive option is venting in threads on JWN, reading old JWN threads, and asking for advice to specific questions from JWN members. If you are financially secure, I would highly recommend talking with a competent cult-exit counselor to help you and your family.

  mom: "yeah... those who believed that last year was the end of the world".

  i mean, how stupid is it to have a rock tell them when the end of the world is!!

  HI ILoveTTATT, Your Bible study with your mother sounds promising since she brought up a failed prophecy. Next time you might ask your mother who those brothers were, what happened to those discredited brothers, and/or ask her if she has researched other brothers making similar mistakes without mentioning 1878, 1914, and 1925. You might even suggest that she uses google or wikipedia to help her do research. She might discover that the WTBTS continued to revere those brothers (i.e., Russell, Rutheford, Freddie Franz).

  Please continue to post your Bible study experiences with your mother. I would be curious to read about any comments she might have about 2 Cor 3.

  I went from door to door AND to the convention site last week!

  last week i went from door to door, i actually got suggested to go to this territory.

  my daughter was with me as well, she is used to going from door-to-door with her mother i suppose so i got her into a dress, got dressed up myself, told her about a simple introduction to use and how to politely go away from someone's door.

  hi, i am reading a book on mind control and one of the areas the author stresses group control is their constant revision of "new insight from god" or "we have a new message from god".

  in keeping with the spirit of new light, 2014 is going to need a moral boost because one hundred years of lies needs a spin doctor of bethel size.

  the poster with the close new light for 2014 will be showered with glory and much pomp.

  To me the easiest way to spot a dangerous cult/dangerous organization is when the image/welfare of the organization is more important than protecting individuals and their human rights, the organization promotes shunning former members and not associating with non-members, and/or the organization promotes that members blindly follow the organization/leaders without members critically thinking for themselves.

  My friends visitation is tonight all of her JW family will be there

  today i need some encouraging support ..i will be attending my friends funeral visitation tonight .. we had been jws together since childhood ,and then three yrs ago she was dfd .

  we have supported each other these past few yrs with encouragement .she comes from a huge jw family, and they all plan on attending tonight.

  i have known them all my life ,and they hate me for leaving the cult.

  I'm sorry for your loss troubled mind. If it will not be a JW funeral, is there something that you can say about your friend to celebrate her life. It might make you feel better. Besides celebrating her life is a lot better than promoting the WTBTS.
