HATING JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

from what i have gathered, you all were once jw's and now hate them or the organization?

do you still believe in jehovah and love jehovah?

i have to admit i dont like, actually i rather dislike, some of the sisters in my congregation and i know that's wrong of me, but some of them really think they are better than me and are quite judgemental.

Welcome Marrianne,

Like most here, I do not hate the witnesses. I actually care about them. There are some here who have been so severely harmed by the organization that they have trouble seperating the 'system' that hurt them from the people who blindly support it.

Then, too, there is a measure of anger you may notice as individuals learn step by step that they were mislead. There are many issues that the Society is desperately trying to cover up that are exposed on the internet. I hope you stay around to discover some of them.

By the way, sound like you fit in here. You describe yourself like one of us, and be assured again, I still love my friends in the organization, even those who shun me and have hurt me.

Did you ever experience Holy Spirit?

i was a jw for 40 years.

although as an individual/cong/body of elders holy spirirt was prayed for, i cannot think of one moment when i thought..right now i have gods spirit acting upon me.

it was never described adequately for me to completely understand and i suspect that others felt the same, yet everyone talked as though they knew exactly how it worked.

You are right. My remark was "black and white". I was speaking of my needs only. Most people still need the 'stepping stone' of religion, although I do not believe Jesus intended to establish a stepping stone. He gave us the "Way", the "faith", he was the "reality" and we shouldn't have fallen back into leaning on 'shadows' of that reality again. But most have. Perhaps that is why he himself wondered "when the son of man returns, well he find the faith?"

Yes,

But I experienced it as a Baptist, then as a JW and now as a nonreligious but independently spiritual person.

I never felt it as a member of an organization nor as part of the body of elders, only as an individual.

Since then I have done word searchs through the bible and found the holy spirit NEVER is recorded as moving an organization nor even the congregation. It only operates on individuals. You can try the same search.

It's the same Chi or spirit that the rest of the world speaks of and many experience. My experiencing it as a member of two different religions and now as a nonreligious person tells me dogma or religious affiliation has nothing to do with Holy Spirit.

Religion, in my opinion, suppresses spirituality by codifying it. The whole point is lost.

Tape recorder ? for ex or current elders

i've always wondered why in jc's elders worry about tape recorders being on.

i mean this is a jc not the fbi.

so then it would be a good idea then that every conversation we have with an elder we should have a tape recorder on us. I mean nowadays they are as small as pens. We can ALWAYS refuse a strip search.

And it is legal, in most states, as long as one person involved (YOU) is willing to be recorded. Small digital recorders go anywhere and are undetectable.

The local elders do not understand the issues and are simply obeying and protecting "Mother".

Modern technology combined with WWW communcation does not allow cults to thrive. No wonder they are only growing in third world countries. RECORD, RECORD, RECORD.

It may not be the FBI, but they have the similarity of having the public image of being benevolent causing only harm for the greater good of all and yet having some terrible screw ups they desperately hope will never become public knowledge.

Richard Rawe was DF'd four times. His wife was smart enough twenty years ago to record her DFing meeting and the result was the reversal of the judicial committee's decision. This was possibly the beginning of this WT policy.

Today the WT is involved in an enormous "Cover your Butt" turmoil. Litigation is possibly around the corner of every judicial decision. They must walk a legal tight rope now to stay out of court. But they cannot count on the local "janitors" (as JT calls them) to handle matters judiciously nor to avoid opening their mouth regarding who is really calling the shots and why. These 'moments of truth', if recorded, could put them in an indefensible lawsuit, especially where they have stepped outside the boundaries of "ecclesiastical privilege".

I'm busy throwing up at the thought of a bunch of untrained, incompetent, arrogant elders trying to get their kicks by interrogating who asked for spiritual counseling.

You have accurately described the average JW elder. I can only try and imagine what you went through that is behind the pain you are yet experiencing. However, many here have dealt with at least one elder who really cared. Of the last body of elders which I was a part there were four out of about twelve. Obviously this type person does not last indiffinitely as an elder. Many become JWD posters. Jst2laws
