GodBlock, a new web filter that blocks religious content. Stuff like this makes me wonder about the Babylon the Great doctrine.
by miseryloveselders inhttp://www.godblock.com/.
i mentioned before that i don't agree with the wt's interpretation of who babylon the great is.
however, i can't deny that people are more open today about being closed towards religious interference in their lives.

JW that works downstairs from me in concession stand holds up Daily Text asking out loud, "Did you have your breakfast?"
by miseryloveselders inthe company i work for rents out several floors in an office building.
this jw works for the actual office building, specifically in a little mini concession stand, with things like overpriced chips, soda, etc.. so i'm walking through the revolving doors this morning, and i see her.
elevators can be a mofo in the morning some days.

Congregation Elders got a letter from headquarters on "Sexting". I guess this is the latest trend causing problems.
by miseryloveselders inlast week, my coboe, formerly known as the po, read a letter from ny giving directions on how to handle cases of "sexting" in the congregation.
i've vaguely heard of sexting in news articles.
i'm thinking though, the branch isn't going to send out a letter unless there's a trend.

Despite your reservations with being a JW, did you ever sometimes felt like you accomplished something in field service?
by miseryloveselders ini've got my fair share of things that irritate me to no end regarding this religion.
however, i have to be fair.
i got up this morning, and for some reason i didnt feel overwhelmingly negative about what i was getting ready to do.

Somebody just said to me, "Happy Father's Day." I looked back at him and said, "Happy Father's Day. Have a good weekend!" Weird...
by miseryloveselders inin undercover's thread he was talking about when sneezing, people say, "god bless you".
right after posting in that thread, i went for my lunch break.
so i hit the elevator, and was standing near the main doors to the office building i work at.

The Writing Department's use of "Exclamation Points". Anybody else find their use cheesy? Or motivating possibly?
by miseryloveselders insomething i've been meaning to ask for a while since coming here, is wsup with the writing department's use of exclamation points?
i'm no literature buff or anything, but to me personally, the exclamation points cheapen whatever they're trying to get across.
here's some examples from the new jeremiah book.. how thankful we can be for the teaching done by christian shepherds!.

What causes the authority complex the WTS has? Or even common JWs? What drives the need to control others?
by miseryloveselders inhttp://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/194364/1/witnesses-cant-take-the-heat.
in the thread above, several posters made the point that if xjws could walk away from the religion without losing their family and close friends, then they wouldn't even bother worrying about the wts afterwards.
they would simply move on in life.

When does a Jehovah's Witness graduate?
by miseryloveselders ini live in a city with a few major universities.
last thursday, i got off work, and as i hit the main avenue on my way home, i noticed people with their graduation robes and caps on.
i saw parents ecstatic that their children were now adults, and had accomplished something both they and their parents could be proud of.
