  i imagine you're reading this because either you think you can defend your beliefs victoriously or you have doubts.. i have 2 questions that i hope you can log in and answer (no one will know who you are unless you tell them or leave your page open for others to see).

  1. what actual worship did you do at the meetings or gatherings?.

  That tumble weed will continue blow in no-man's land.

  I guess the worship is the "singing" of badly composed dirges and prayers blessing the GB for all the work they do on our behalf - and where "Jehovah" is used as a full-stop after every sentence.

  My Mom Is Dying

  i just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.

  she is on morphine and hanging on.

  she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.

  seriously, they will change the midweek meeting ever so slightly.

  it is just repackaging of the same old stuff.seriously, we don't know if construction is halted for days, weeks, months, forever, or what.. we don't know if new kingdom halls will still go up, old kingdom halls will be closed and sold.

  they have laid off bethelites before and they will lay them off some more.

  the chelmsford project in the uk has already come to a halt and every one has been sent home.

  the bethel family in london is to be cut by several hundred.

  my impression is that most ambitious youngster in the org dream of being involved with the building program.

  Did anyone learn the truth from having their prayers answered by a knock at the door and then eventually leave the JWs?

  i know of one person who had a difficult life, prayed for help, got the knock at the door, got baptized and eventually left the jws believing they were a cult.. has this happened to any of you?

  and if so, did you still feel your prayers were answered at that time?.

  This apparently happened to my mother. She was suffer from post-natal depression and was expecting me. She was scared of the hippy movement, the drug culture and the perceived break-down of respect for authority that was occurring in the mid-sixties......so she prayed for direction. Lo and Behold they came-a-knocking and our family was fucked from that moment on.

  last night i was looking over the notes on my old elders book and one of the instructors told us to write this down.

  "when you want to get the friends to believe and obey anything, just keep saying it over and over and over and eventually they will believe it and follow whatever they are being told.

  when i went back to school, i learned this quote in one of my world history classes..

  We judged it as fornication because the dancer's genitals touched his lap and we gave her permission to divorce him scriptural.

  That's frickin' hilarious......well it is until you realize that we (unqualified in anyway) as elders made decisions that could totally screw up other people's lives.
