Question about your spouse or ex
by bluecanary ini've noticed we have a few male posters here with wives who are still in the jws.
and i can think of one female poster (cognac) with a husband in the jws (although things are looking up for her).
of course we have a few spouses that came out together.. is it me, or does it seem like the women here are more likely to have divorced their jw husband--even before leaving--whereas the men are more likely to stay with their wives?

What should I say to the Mormons?
by bluecanary inyesterday as i was leaving the apartment, there were two women in skirts, holding bibles at the door across from me.
i almost panicked!
i definitely want to talk the jws if they ever come to my door (no one knows me in this area) but i'm not ready yet!.

What are the fruits that we are supposed to recognize?
by bluecanary ini posted most of this on another thread but i want this to stand alone so i can refer back to it in the future.
one of our resident apologists has given her response on this thread.
you can judge the relative worth of her response for yourself.. "by their fruit you will recognize them.

Is your boss an office tyrant?
by bluecanary inthere's an article on yahoo!
's front page about "terrible office tyrants"; how to spot them and what to do about them.
i thought it eerily applicable to the wts, and have rewritten it accordingly.. the original article is here: http://finance.yahoo.com/career-work/article/107637/is-your-boss-an-office-tyrant?.html.

This is frustrating
by bluecanary ini'm filling out an application to volunteer with big sisters.
they want references.
specifically: "please type or print information requested for three references that are non-family members who have known you well on a personal basis for at least two years.

has the religion you've chosen made you a better person?

Is it ok to malign another's faith?
by bluecanary ini've seen this come up on multiple threads.
rather than derail them all, i'd like to talk about it here.. jws seem to feel that it is a form of persecution for anyone to question, doubt or speak negatively of their beliefs or organization.
yet, they are taught to do this to other religions.
