not sure it was the best decision considering she holds very firmly to the resurrection hope so we can see our babies again.. anyways she is agreeable to begin a study to find a better truth.

I Hate the Sound of the Word Jehovah
by cofty inlistening to clips of the latest manipulative video from the watchtower i realised how much i detest that word - jehovah.. sometimes i have thought it would be interesting to observe a meeting or part of a convention.
every time i heard that word i would be unable to stay in my seat.. i have a visceral reaction every time i hear it.
it stands for so much that i have contempt for.

It is tin-foil land to suggest someone would assassinate him for creating a free energy device IMO. Think of a situation where this has happened (the example has to be about non-military research).
These things are announced every few years, remember the E-CAT and Rossi which was pushed a few years back? This will happen:
- Nothing will happen to him the next 10 days
- He will present *something*. Most likely a video of a black box with a meter attached to it
- He will ask for funds to "scale the technology" and announce with funding it is about 6-12 months away

Interesting videos on using the socratic method to talk with people on their deeply held beliefs
by bohm init is rare you find something on youtube on religion which feels fresh, but this did it for me.
most here properly agree that the best (only) way to have a constructive conversation with jw who is in is using methods such as those described by steven hassan.
however if you search youtube or the internet, most discussions on faith takes the form of debates or at any rate discussion about factual things -- exactly the things steven hassan would tell you is the least likely to work.. i came across a series of youtube videos with a guy who is basically walking around with a camera and interviewing people on their beliefs.

disposable hero of hypocrisy: I totally get you, in conversation I find it is nearly impossible not to latch on to something which is factually wrong & it does require a lot of thinking on your feet. I think this guys advice would be to practice a lot, my plan is to do a bit of questioning for the next witness i run into (yah for the carts!) and perhaps report back here :-D. -

Gone 3 years from here

i haven't been on in three years now, i pretty much got myself caught up to date and times change as always.
we moved down to florida last year and i ran into some jw's at a booth they have in a flea market here, kissimmee, 10 minutes from everything disney.
