i normally say "i`m quite happy to wait n see" and smile. they dont seem to like that.

Protesting and Demonstrating at District Convention
by jabberwock inhas anyone who has attended a district convention this year seen any protestors or demonstrators?.
have you ever protested or demonstrated or maybe even handed out literature at a convention or assembly?

not something i would do, i dont think it helps. when i was a jw someone telling me that i belonged to a cult only confirmed i had the "truth",i was well brain washed like most are. sadly you can only hope people come to their senses, not that i wouldnt state my case if i was asked my opinion.
to be honest i think it shows obsession, you know most people have wasted enough of their lifes being jw`s, now their wasting the rest of it hounding them. i would say to anyone, enjoy your life, state your case to friends and jw`s you may come across on forums like this, but enjoy your life and be happy. hate gets you nowhere.

I can't take this pain anymore...my life at dead end
by JustHuman14 inmy life has reached to a dead end...i'm stuck and there is no way out.
i was inactive for 6 years and i'm disfellowshiped for the past 3. i would never think that my life would have been in this terrible mess.. .
i wasn't planned to be disfellowshiped by my "wife" turned me in to the elders for apostasy 2 times!!!

the only advice i offer is from experince, it sounds to me that you are to nice, far more spiritual than the people you are dealing with. when i was in a similiar situation to yourself my x was running rings round me, i was always trying to please, always trying to meet more than half way, and she would just run me down. i got very depressed, wasted, then i realised she was winning and i was starting to look bad in my own eyes and friends and family, my child was worried about me,all this shook me up. i started to stand up for myself, started to say what i would do and what i wouldnt, got a hobbie. i learnt to put things in boxes and leave them there, if she was kicking off, saying you can`t do this, you can`t do that, i would respectfully (never lose your temper) state my case, and not back down. eventually and after much effort they get the message that no matter how often they press those buttons, it won`t work. also your kids will respect your strength, they know right and wrong, if you are fair and respect your wife as i`m sure you do, your kids will see that, and one day they will tell you.
you have along road a head, but decide today, right now, i`m going to be strong for myself and my kids. all the best and all the love in the world to you.
p.s i have a great realationship with my child.

hey bonafide, i left the jw`s and have a beautiful wife and children, she was never a witness,she understands....dont but your own limitations on others,you will be suprised. the watchtower wants you to think that worldly people think your crazy, that they dont understand you.
i have a friend born into the jw`s left in his middle thirties is chat up line was
"i was born into the jw`s now even my own mother won`t speak to me" the ladies loved it. so like my last comment if you want to leave do it.

a point well made,but i think you miss the point of most people who have left the jw`s. personally if people want to stay in the jw`s thats fine,if there doing it because they don`t want to leave there family and friends, fine,its there choice.
but as an xwitness i like to discuss whats happening now, whats happened in the past, why i left,why i would`nt go back. and if i can help someone by a kind word or a bit of experience, then i`m helping my fellow man. hey all you jw`s out there if you want to stay in...do so,for whatever reason, as long as it makes sense to you.

Information Control & Thought Control - Newbies Check Steve Hassan Out !
by flipper ini've posted threads on this last year but due to many new members exiting the jehovah's witness cult and joining this board - i felt it's important to share steve hassan's information briefly to bring interest and attention to what former members in the witnesses were and are experiencing.
knowledge is power and it is important.. on page 49 in steve hassan's book " releasing the bonds- empowering people to think for themselves " it states " a common form of information control involves blocking out any critical or negative points of view.
some cults simply forbid members to have access to any non-cult material - such as newspapers, magazines, television, radio, and the internet - while others have more subtle ways of controlling information.

"we dont refer to ourselves as a religion but as the truth"
and when ever i made the mistake and said it was a religion i was rebuked and told not always kindly
"its the truth not a religion"

Who would WANT this wicked system to go on any longer?
by JWdaughter inthat is always the refrain of jws when confronting former jws who point out all the false prophecy, the false teachings and declare that they are not putting their lives in line with this religion simply because they say the end is near.. first of all.
that is no reflection on me as saying that i think this 'system of things' is all hunky dory.

surely the fact that we live in such an ugly, evil world proves that there is no god (and don`t give me that satan da devil crap).
or is our concept of god completely wrong? all i know is i went into the jw`s for about 6yrs and came out the other side none the wiser.
the only thing i have learned is stay well away from organized religion.
it amazes me how many x jw`s quickly embrace a new religion or dont question the god thing.

On a scale of 1 - 10 - How Ex-xjw are you?
by AK - Jeff ini felt like i was still a jw for a couple of years emotionally, though i had left.
then for a couple of years i felt like an xjw.
in the past year i think i have made the leap to lightspeed.

by coffee_black ini am sitting in the family lounge at the university of va medical center.
my grandson has paused his walk after 2 days because his 10 year old sister, aubrey, has had a terrible accident.
she fell off of a bike, slamming into a tree going downhill.
