  why do they appear so similar?.

  many times i've been accused of using watchtower material in my presentations, when all i really own is a few bible translations and my concordance, which i rely on quite heavily, at times.

  as for owning any watchtower material that i copy from, i have none of that, in my room at all that i use!

  But if Jesus said wherever two or three would be gathered in his name there he would be among them.

  Doesn't that show that he's been with his followers in spirit a lot longer than 1914 or any other man made date for his presence?

  And since the word arrival when Jesus said he'd arrive "elth-" is the same for events in his parousia and second coming to judge the world why if he's been present already that he hasn't been judging putting sheep on the right and goats on the left.

  The whole WT explanation of this is just too convoluted and roundabout to make any sense scripturally.

  Any derivative and parallel explanation given by Second Adventist or Bible Student groups is likewise too filled with man made predictions and assumptions to be of any real value. They are just that, the thoughts of men.

  Love the way Christ loved, and live the way he taught in the gospels, with caring for the downtrodden and the needy. This to me reflects his spirit, his presence in your life.

  this overlap stuff is such heavy crap.

  i wondered why they had so many changes in the last few years.

  it might be because the old guard is in charge and there is a small governing body.

  Very well put OTWO and Flipper, there is definitely an agenda.

  Sometimes info filters out from HQ like the fact they're going to add members.

  But the details aren't many and there's much speculation about it on exJW boards like this one.

  Then all the pieces seem to fall into place, all the while any active and brainwashed JW is saying "No, that's just apostate talk."

  But the truth sooner or later comes out, and I don't mean by "new light" from WT Bethels.

  I do think that any new GB members will make overtures and new changes.

  Otherwise it will turn into a time frozen denomination, like the

  Amish, Menonites, etc.

  it seems that people on this site enjoying ganging up on people, most recently myself, and yet are slow to apologize.

  that certainly reminds me of another group of people.

  any guesses what group i'm referring to???

  Heybaby, I too felt that way, as you can see there are some people who have issues (ehem Farkel and Outlaw) judging from their posts above.

  Some people are just not the sort that treat others in a nice way, maybe their mom beat them when they were little too many times.

  Who knows? But they have no reason to be mean to others. Mean people suck as the saying goes. You bet they'll take note, I don't care.

  You hang in there and do what's best for you. I appreciated your post and I agree whole heartedly.

  New Songs a Trip

  you should have heard when people were singing one of the updated songs.. they've changed the third line's tune and words .. it was almost complete silence as people tried to figure out what on earth they were supposed to sing.. .

  do other religions change lyrics of songs like that or is it only jws whose beliefs change and even the songs they sing need updating?.

  these people just love instiling guilt on these poor souls.. .

  at a recent circuit assembly a circuit overseer gave an awesome talk during the portion, 'giving attention to the needs of the circuit.

  and with such a high pricetag, please don't let it be empty.

  One DO had this thing for talking about skirt length and slit up to the thigh... He mentioned it every SAD and CA

  and always used the words "coochie momma" and we sisters shouldn't be dressing like a "coochie momma"

  because people in our territory might think we were "coochie mommas" coming to their doors. Trouble is after

  all his "coochie momma" mentions and the explicit details of women's tight skirts that you could see panty lines

  he had all sisters blushing and brothers "squirming" in their seats.

  But about empty seats at the KH being bought with Christ's Blood I see absolutely no mention in the Bible

  that Christ came on a mission to buy seats at any KH. Actually I thought Christ came to redeem humankind from

  its sinful state, and to ransom them from death to life. Seems like the brother giving that talk was stretching his

  illustration a bit much. If there are so many empty seats maybe it's because of the horrendous treatment of the

  flock by the hired undershepherds who abuse and fleece them at the orders of a Book publishing corporation.

  "a couple from russia, sold even their house in order to be able to attend an assembly in germany.....".

  basically no more information given.

  Hmmm... If the WTS is so spiritual why don't they publish an experience where they sold a building in order to help poor widows?

  Or got rid of some redundant KH (now that they're combining congos like crazy) and used the proceeds to put a roof on some poor family's house?

  Or maybe how they sold some of the old printing machines they have parked on the side, unused and buy tuition and school clothes for poor children in Africa?

  Etc. Why? Because they are NOT "so spiritual". They expect sacrifice from everyone else for their benefit.

  if you go to the meeting, you will get a copy.

  if you have a family member, you can get a copy.
