Were YOU Guilty Of A "Secret Sin"?
by minimus inthe witnesses know how to getcha to "do more".
guilt is their main weapon.
if you feel guilty over something no one might ever know about, the watchtower society has seen to it that even whatever you might have thought of or done in secret will be revealed.......were you ever guilty of a secret sin??

Well they told me that's why I was depressed but I just couldn't come up with anything to confess that I hadn't already confessed to God and asked forgiveness for. It was none of their business anyway.

When hubby falls asleep watching t.v. and I change the channel and then he wakes up and says now that I woke him up I have to tickle his feet so he can fall back asleep on the couch and he starts snoring so I can't hear what I chose to watch and then I just have to wake him up anyway so he can go to bed.

In life, how do you walk?
by Tigerman in.
on a day to day basis, does it really make any difference to you as how you perceive others and how they perceive you?
if so, do you think this thought process can be altered, in one way or another, for the greater good?

The hubby and I actually treat people better and with more respect than we did while JW's. Now we can make our own judgments about people without following those absurd JW rules & regulations. In making our own judgments, we try to look at the good in people and we have found that the so called "worldly" people are more loving, open-minded (duh, are there any people more close-minded than the JW's?), friendlier and less judgmental than JW's.
Leaving the org. has opened up our hearts that had been slowly closing down over the years we were involved. As to how people perceive ME...well I like the saying: "What other people think of me is none of my business"!

if you ever need any help gettin that ben gay in place you let me know...always had a thing for wintergreen. *wink*
Yeah...I just knew that would get some of those comments like that there above one. I was just a asking for it. But hey...if you've got a thing for surgically replaced knees (most men find that long scar VERY attractive)...I'm sure my hubby won't mind me getting a Ben Gay rubdown from you all!!!
I got pissed off this last birthday because I got a letter from AARP! Ooooo What a way to make a bad impression.
Hey Brenda...I got a letter too!! That was really fun! Then the next week they wanted to give me "Senior Week" coupons at Shopko. Boy...talk about having a BAD day.

JWs and Clothing
by the_classicist inwhere i live, its not usual for people to "dress up," especially business people and executives, you are more likely to see them with a button up shirt, khakis, and one of those fleece vests on.
so, on the whole, jws look very out of place wearing their cheap suits (though a few elders didn't wear cheap suits and they made that known, "look at this, i got a spot on my new $200 designer shirt" -- really, something like this happened).
but what i did notice is that, in my area, dressing guidelines usually weren't followed, or enforced for that matter, for good looking women.

In our uppity and fashion-conscious cong...it was a never ending one-upmanship (or should I say one-upwomanship) to see who had the nicest clothing and best hair and shoes and coats and purses and on and on and on. And I, the fool that I am, went along with this and spent so much money on expensive dresses and jewelry to keep up with the Upper Class in our cong. I wish I had all the money back I spent on those clothes to look "the part" of the well-dressed, well-heeled JW. What a crock.
Now I mostly dress in sweats or jeans & t-shirts and sneakers. I LOVE it. My sister was in competition with her sister-in-law, who went to the same congregation, on who could have the most new outfits in a period of a week or so. My sister couldn't keep up and she ran their credit card up to the max. So much for modesty and staying humble.
Cathy L...with the closet filled with my JW clothes about to be boxed up for Goodwill!!!!

It Just Ain't Fair

i feel at this time, in my long and varied career here at the forum, i must protest to the exalted and respected administator of this site, that a problem does exist in it's "labeling" of posters.
this concerns the titles that are given to posters when they reach a certain amount of posts.

Yes mkr32208...I too think recognition is a good thing. But I also think that there should be no divisions amongst the posters here. That is why I say: Down with the Class/Labeling System. Not that I'm a rabble (is that how that is spelled? Probably not) rouser or anything...well...maybe I am. I know a whole group of ELDERS that think I am! Now THAT'S something to be proud of! Oh the ramblings of a confused mind.

Since I like to keep my back room in a spotless condition; I'll have to take YOU TWO out in the back shed where we perform our exorcism's. (Though we have never tried this on monkey's or birds; but there's a first time for everything). I can see that YOU TWO are totally out of control and need more than a mere spanking or given the privilege of mud wrestling. It's TOUGH LOVE for YOU TWO mischief makers.
DEVINSMOM...my mostest beautiful niece!!! We have to stick together because my other nieces, who shall remain nameless, practice that awful thing called shunning and show me NO RESPECT whatsoever. Forgive us for detaining you from your schoolwork. I got your pictures and loved them. Devin is such a Q-T-PUH-2T!!! Now get back to those books and make us proud. Love...Auntie Cathy

I can't believe it. A RERUN of yesterday...or is it just one of those dreaded flashbacks.
I must find my bottle of Claritin...you two are making my allergies act up with all that monkey hair and bird feathers floating around here.
Cathy L.
P.S. Since you both seem to be looking forward to going to the back room...I know retract my threats and after I have a walk on my treadmill, I will have to think of something more unpleasant for the both of you that does not include spankings and other pleasurable activities.
