  Who else is on the Disabled List?

  still out of action with a double fracture of the leg... both bones right above the ankle.

  the incisions are healed up pretty well... see the doc at the end of the month to see how this recovery will progress.. who else is on the sick, injured or crazy list this week?.

  You are so right and I am coming to terms with it finally, otherwise I won't be going anywhere and just sitting at home. I have just been to vain. Here in Canada as you know the health care system is not there for you and you have to help yourself.

  I have a cane, I have a walker but am embarassed using them, I can walk in the house but going out is a problem. I have to buy a scooter I think, It will make getting around less painful. Its an expensive venture but I think a necessary one.

  thanks for the advice and I am sorry you are having pain and problems, but it helps knowing that I am not the only one dealing with this.

  I am sorry that some of us are on the disabled list. Hillybilly at least it looks like your disability is not permanent.

  I have become disabled in the past year. Chronic stuff and it sucks big time. I am having trouble accepting it and find it embarrassing and humiliating to suddenly not be able to walk without support.

  I have disc degeneration in the lower back, the cartilidge in between the discs has disintegrated and there is no cushioning so I have severe pain when standing or walking. Sitting is fine thankfully and thats why I sit here on the computer and post on JWD a lot lately.

  In September 07 I had a horrible attack and ended up in hospital paralyzed on my right side, mostly my leg and hand. I was diagnosed with MS. Now I am NOT paralyzed but have problems with my right leg and foot, they don't want to move quickly. Plus I have lost my sense of balance. It could be worse but for someone who used to walk 10 miles a day, hike etc. its pretty tough.

  so far, i like needful things, secret window/hidden garden, and langoliers best.. guy at the bookstore said the stand was the best.. i just bought the shining and pet cemetary (book's in the other room.

  Misery, Thinner, Rose Madder, Geralds Game, Insomnia, Carrie, Doloeres Claiborne, Needful things.

  I joined Weight Watchers today!

  i am a bit of a yo yo dieter - i have been dieting ever since i was a teenager, and my role model for this was my mom of course.

  in fact one of my very early memories of going shopping with mom and her buying a diet shake mix.

  well... i have a little girl who is almost three and i have been thinking about things and i really need to break this cycle of crash diets, losing 5 kgs and picking up 10 once i have lost motivation.

  so i loaded up the truck and rolled out, wondering what do you do when you meet someone so ancient that the roman empire was a mere twinkling in jehovah's eye.

  Photographs of old witness friends and Witness events. Do what with them?

  my family just took a stroll down witness lane this month as we searched for photographs that our graduating high school daughter needed for her display at her graduation party.

  we have an immense file of photos of a previous life with the jw's.

  in a way its a history of a former life.

  My thoughts are Save them, they are part of your life.

  I didn't have any photos of my JW days. My Mom had them all stashed away for years. Most of the photos were of witness friends with us. When she died in 2006 I inherited everything including the photos.

  It had been 25 years since I had seen these photos and it was very enjoyable looking at them after all those years. It brought many memories flooding back but after all this time it didn't bother me anymore. I suggest if it bothers you to look at them, stash them away somewhere safe and in a few years take them out and look at them again. You might have a different perspective on them.

  Have a great holiday in Mexico. I love it there too. I am so envious of you, Lucky girl you are.

  Don't know what to say about those insects except they would drive me crazy too. We have black flies right now up here in the country. Ugh they swarm and "bite". Little tiny things but you have dozens biting you all over the place at one time. Thankfully they are gone in 2 weeks and then come the mosquitos.

  Brother Just got Robbed by Three Guys with Knives

  my brother is 14 years old.

  he has been held up by three guys brandishing knives.

  he had to hand over what little valuables he had on his person.. i'm shaking my head here in absolute disbelief!!!
