The Foolish 'Two Witness" Concept
by metatron init seems, if i am interpreting the documents correctly, that many in the organization might reject good forensic evidence of a crime just because there aren't two or more (human) witnesses to back it up.. a quick look at the watchtower concordance reveals that all sorts of things can act as a 'witness' - such as a pile of rocks.. in john, jesus claimed that 'his works' acted as a witness.. actually, forensic evidence can offer more accurate 'testimony' than humans and is often superior.
in any case, this 'two witness' stuff is rubbish, even from a biblical point of view.
things can be a witness.. .

Duck Watchtowercy
by Defianttruth inwith phil robertson getting the boot within a day of his comments by a&e, what would happen if the lbg community started calling all of the venue managers of their convention arenas and exposing them for the hate group they are today?

Went to a Christmas concert at Bethel yesterday!
by Gopher inyes, you read that right.. bethel university is a christian college in a suburb of saint paul, minnesota.
the performers were ernie haase and the signature sound, a gospel quartet from the southern united states.
i went along with friends & my girlfriend who are believers.. for me, there were enough seasonal/secular songs to balance out the gospel / jesus songs.

what kind of amazing peace agreement would capture your watchtower imagination?
by scotoma inembeded in the minds of jw's and xjw's is the watchtowers pairing of some kind of cry of peace and security followed by something referred to as the "disgusting thing standing in the holy place".
there have been many moments of peace starting with the end of world war ii vj day and ve day.

My thoughts on ex-Jw 'activism'
by Rufus T. Firefly ini have noticed several threads discussing the pros and cons of certain ex-jws who become activists toward active jws.
i dont know why anyone would find this to be odd; after all, jws consider it their god-given duty to expose religious error and apostasy in other religious organizations.
anyone who was ever a jw knows this to be true.

Sophisticated Theology is nothing but background STATIC to me.
by nicolaou inprobably won't win any friends with this one but here goes .
.. some of the more thoughtful and intelligent believers here may object that atheists only address 'unsophisticated' arguments about the existence of god or noah's flood or the literal account of creation in genesis.
perhaps you think we ignore the 'sophisticated' arguments that might actually answer our objections.. well in my case your pretty much correct.. my mind turns to mush when 'sophisticated' debate takes over on questions of faith and doctrine.
