what have jws got against beards ?
by looloo inand it really used to annoy me that jesus and john the baptist both had such neat and well trimmed beards in the watchtower literature , how unlikley would that be in reality ?
also they never wore a suit so why do "true christians "have to wear one , is all about appearences by any chance and giving a false impression ?

Why Aren't There Windows in the Newer Kingdom Halls?
by StAnn ini've driven by several newer kh's in the past few years and noticed that none of them have even so much as one window.
just double doors on the front (with no windows) and a solid door on the back.
what's up with that?

My local hall has small oblong windows that are frosted.
In a guess it could be they thought people might not be tempted to look out the windows and to actually listen to the garbage on the platform instead.
They dont want anyone to think about the outside world while in the hall.
And the way the tower likes to control peoples minds i wouldnt put it past them.

I can see clearly now the watchtowers gone
by jacethespace inisnt it so strange that the moment that you get away from the watchtower and live life everything soon begins to get better ?
at the moment things seem to be looking up for me now.. it seems to me now that a lot of watchtower routine week in and week out is a complete waste of time and effort that could be spent in other more healthy pursuits in life.. as a jw your time is caught up in a never ending pursuit of work, study, meetings, field circus.its no wonder all jws want to see the end come about.but could they also be longing for an end to the never ending monotony there in?
ironically enough.. plus as a jw [ personally for me ] you are constantly feeling tired and worrying about fitting time in to do everything that needs to be done in a given week.also there is very little time for family especially if your family are none witnesses.i found this intresting when i mentioned to an elder whithin the congregation that my family complained about me never having time for them.he told me his mom was often saying the same things about him.. then theres good old field circus.most time i spent in " the field" i feel was wasted as most people see this door to door work as annoying and even if they do have the magazines or even agree to a study most never ever convert to the tower.its anything but a life saving work.. its also tiring just trying to keep up the appearance that everythings fine and being a jw makes you oh so happy when thats not true.or as the elder who lives nextdoor does whenever i see him lately and say hi he walks away whistling.as if whistling shows your happy.its a front.. in contrast now out of the tower theres plenty of time to plan life and think for yourself.you have plenty of time to take an intrest in family and friends and do good things for others.. i also feel a lot healthier mentally and physically for not having to constantly be running around none stop.and the other thursday when it was time for meetings and the elder left the house next door i didnt feel like i was doing anything wrong when i to walked out the house and said hello and then carried on my own way, maybe next time i,ll whistle too.. the only thing that still bothers me is just not knowing all the answers to where the worlds heading.. but im still waiting for all those demons to pop up and plague me for leaving truth.i guess there on holiday.. .

Experience from a bible study student
by Vincent ini have left the jehovah's witnesses(jw) organisation after hearing of the death of emma gough who was 22 years old and refused blood while giving birth to twins.
as i thought of this i thought this would put me in a similar situation but with having a brain tumour operation like i did on 7/12/06
i studied the what the bible teaches book and got to chapter 13 until 28th oct 07 i left after hearing of the terror of that death.

Hi Vince sorry about the problems your having they sound similar to what a lot of jws go through when joining this cult.
I have had the same experience some things you put in your thread could have been written by me as i had bad feelings and depression not long after beginning my study and feelings of loneliness and it didnt get better or go away until i go out of this cult.
From my experience a lot of watchtower activity causes these problems and wastes a lot of time that could be spent in more usefull pursuits such as taking an intrest in family and enjoying life.
Hope things start to feel better soon.

The cry of "Peace and Security"
by Olin Moyles Ghost inanyone who has been associated with the witnesses for any period of time is familiar with 1 thess.
5:2 - "whenever it is that they are saying: peace and security!
then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman; and they will by no means escape.

The UN is on the verge of banning religion - JWs favorite rumor
by VM44 inthe un is on the verge of banning religion.. why is this rumor constantly being brought up by the jws?.
the un does not have the power to ban religion, such an act would go against its very charter and its declaration of human rights.. many of the member nations are islamic and would never vote to ban religion as it would undermine their own very existence.. so the idea that the un would or could ban or even consider banning religion is unrealistic.
never going to happen.. but the jws have been whispering that "the un is going to ban religion" for decades....why?

Joshua 10:13 Says -Is not this written in the book of Jasher?
2 Samual 1:18 Also mentions a book of jasher.
2 Chronicles 9:29 Says- Now the rest of the acts of solomon first and last are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet and in the prophecy of ahijah the shilonate and in the visions of iddo the seer.
What has happened to these books and prophets and what prophecies did they contain?
Also I have considered whether the book of Enoch was originally included in scripture a clue to this seems to be in whats said in the book of jude at the end of the bible.
Jude verse 14 - And Enoch also the seventh from Adam prophesied of these saying Behold the lord comes with ten thousands of his saints [ kj version].
It clearly says that Enoch prophesied of these things but there is no prophesies of Enoch accounted for in scripture. And also how would Jude in the 1st century have known Enochs prophesies if they didnt use The book of Enoch?
There are some good sources on line to reasearch The book of Enoch.
As for the watchtower they dont mention anything about these things.
