  hello, i've been lurking for quite some time here on this forum, reading a whole lot and i've finally made the courage to create an account as a form of escape and in hopes to be understood and not feel "mentally diseased".

  little background on me, i am a born in but i consider myself a pimo (physically in mentally out).

  i feel like i've always had doubts but these doubts would sink with the meetings and the assemblies and every other little thing that drowns any doubts a witness may have.

  I think you should get a lovely badge that says "happily fulfilled mentally diseased". It should be viewed as an extreme compliment from people who are brainwashed.

  Last Memorial Experiences

  i'll share mine first.... i had never missed a memorial for at least a quarter of a century of my life.

  i was kind of raised to believe that missing the memorial was a sin in itself.. by 2013 memorial season, i was missing most of my meetings (even though i was still technically part of my foreign language congregation), and i had just come off the pioneer list.

  i still made plans to attend the memorial (god forbid if i missed that lol).. i knew that typically our memorials were around 9 pm, since we usually got last priority (being a foreign language hall and all).

  how many jws would kill a violent rapist in there home or protect their family with lethal means .

  the one thing i love about the usa is the right to defend oneself with lethal force in their own home.

  it's not that i want to kill someone but better them dead than my children..

  Looking for experiences from those who are married with kids and have dissacociated

  this is a question for those who officially left the organisation and are married; and your spouse and kids are still in.'.

  i just wanted to find out what your experience has been when you dissacociated.the following questions go through my mind all the time.

  it always comes back to the what if's!.

  What woke you up?

  for me, i think it was just the right time as i was starting to wake up on other fronts as well (anyone who had went through these will know what i mean).

  but it started when i was looking for what info goes on a publisher card, which led to me reading one person's story (ex bethelite) which was pretty crazy to an all-in jw but who trusts those apostates...?.

  then i started watching videos on cults, as if my subconscious was trying to tell my concord mind something... when i saw a particular one about a young man in lds getting ready to start their 2 year preaching campaign, including a school, social activities etc, i realized that i couldn't tell the difference between the folks of this mormon cult and the jws (save for some religious differences) .

  having been in the same cong for 40+years, it was appalling how unloving, backbiting, and troubled everyone seemed to be. Girls getting pregnant, affairs between all genders, the elite, the unworthies. I have never been around "worldly" people this out of control.

  How many remember the 1969 8 day convention?

  anybody remember the 8 day 1969 international convention.

  i was at the braves stadium in atlanta all 8 days with a sunburn and then wet clothes after the rain storms.

  if you were there (not necessarily in atlanta) do you remember anything about it?

  I remember the 63 8 dayer at the Rosebowel CA. My mom and I drove there from Seattle. HOT HOT HOT.NO BREEZE. I was in grade school. I fainted in line for lunch. My mom and I volunteered at the Snow Cone thing. A billion hornets showed up. My mom was thinking about adopting a kid from a friend who died. He was my age and a complete Eddie Haskell. She even brought him home until he wanted to blow a hole in my brothers stomach big enough to fit his head thru. The end. Sent back. Long Beach Congregation. I remember nothing that was said. Who could understand anything with that reverb from all the speakers. I loved the hotel pool and seeing my mother's family.

  my wife and i for the past three months have been caring for a teenage girl who was abused by her parents.

  she stole a car to get away, and living in prison was a welcome relief for her.

  she was in prison for four years, and the state was going to release her, but she would not go back home.. a co-worker teacher that my wife knows told us the situation, and we agreed o help the girl get back on her feet.. well, she dealt with abuse from all aspects 😔, and is pretty messed up in the head from all of that.. but by being in our home, she was safe and was learning how to deal with her problems.

  can someone please help me find the video from the society regarding not advancing children's talents?

  it's about a child who is very good at something musical and has been invited to participate in a special advanced course but his father explains how that is worldly thinking.
