Looking for specific WT quotes...input appreciated!

hey guys, i've looked in the "best of" section and elsewhere, and i've found a few good ones, but i'm working on a project where i need quotes from literature where the gb/fds are said to be the "spokesman of god", "divine channel", and other things of that sort.

any help would be most appreciated.

perhaps this paradoxical "topic" is one with which we here have dealt a little more, or a little more consciously, than the average population.. we used to have our heads full of beliefs (which we called "truth") in every direction: on theology, on cosmology, on paleontology, on past history, on so-called prophetic future, on heaven above, on earth, on she'ol beneath.

on many things -- current events, traditions, other peoples' beliefs and behaviours -- we had strong opinions which were directly or indirectly (the famous "conscience" matters) part of the same deal.

and of course our life was filled with activities and relationships, a community of "friends," people to "help" or "teach," etc.. then, gradually or suddenly, we came to suspect, often with a measure of terror, that all of this was not what we had thought and might sooner or later turn into... nothing.. this "nothing" is perhaps one of the most scary thoughts to people contemplating leaving the org one way or another.

I can sure relate to the terror part. Began to supspect it, was afraid, then terrified with the Nothing. I really lost it mentally, maybe for two years. I remember telling the elders it was "not fair" to do this to me, to hide things, to change things, to fvck me up this much.

should prostitution be legalized?

think of all the unprotected prostitutes in the world.

if their profession were legalized, they might have access to retirement plans, medical insurance, regular health exams that would protect not only the girl but the client also.

courts and society have traditionally held the body as something sacred that should not be sold, but are people not selling their bodies when they make pornos or pose for pictures or make movies or any such things?

hi well following on from my previous post about probs with sis and bro in law and how they haven't spoken for ages,hubs wentround today to have it out and say do they want to know me or not (i am d'ad but she has contact with her d'ad family) and she now says she does as we're family and that i've been ignoring her!

) anyway she has agredd for us all to meet and discuss what sort of part we will have if any in each others lives, because our two boys are the same age and in the same class and we don't want them to suffer.

attended another church service.

i enjoyed the modern music at the beginning of it.

the 'sermon' or message was a discussion of leviticus chapter 3. i found it interesting, but not particularly inspiring.

I have not taken the step you have, but like your detailed observations. If you do this about 500 more times, I may be able to pick one with minimal effort. I recently went to a funeral at a Baptist church for a JW friends relative, and it was EXACTLY like JW, excet for the mention of the cross twice. No talk of heaven or hell since it was a suicide I guess.

last night as i was cooking dinner, mr. witness came to me with an issue of the awake!.

It is the vast majority, even very intelligent ones. It is true because we are taught to just read it from the WT because that is the fountain of truth. All we have to do is read, not think, because they have done everything so well and we can trust them. And parenting? The majority of men at Bethel dont even have kids, and even if they did, that would only make them a possibly equal parent, not qualified to advise. And even the Professional advisors suck half the time! There are many of them that cant agree on squat!

Inattentive elders...anyone else experience this?

everyone always talks about the elders and people in the congregation coming around to see why you aren't at meetings...but i've never experienced this.

i've been away from the meetings for months, and not one single elder has called me.

my friends occasionally call me but never bring up my lackluster attendance.

B Deserter.....I hate to be the one to tell you this, but we are all being well cared for by attentive elders and so is everyone else in your hall. I it only YOU that they care nothing about.-----------Just kidding LOL!

Dude it is so bad in my hall (how bad is it) it is so bad, that I went to the brothers twice, I'm talking Library, and expressed some doubts/asked questions and of course they were going to get back tome. NADA, I had to beg for a visit and it took a year, right before CO's visit, so the meeting was just "would you like to meet with the CO?" I did, and things have never been the same.
