  Update on Detroit-Area Murder Suicide - Front Page Article

  this was on the front page of freep.com this morning - sadly there are some factual errors in this article that people will jump on (not allowed to go to college was in original article for instance - hopefully the reporter will correct it).

  interesting reading the comments below the article - all kinds of opinions.

  I HATE JW funerals

  jw funeral last night.

  it was about half an hour from start to finish.

  they opened with basic facts about the person.

  I told my wife and son if I ever die before them I want to have " Stairway to Heaven " by Led Zeppelin played at my memorial service and for folks to just remember the good and fun times we all had together

  WATSON- " Did anyone else get a creepy feeling watching the brothers gather around and with a monotonous tone recited the instructions from the society about how to handle these things ? "

  Yeah, I felt the same Watson- it creeped me out big time watching that. It was like reading George Orwell's 1984 all over again. Control the " worldly person " or " enemy" .The elder threatening the lady by telling her " the police are coming " - or - translation meaning " you are going to be arrested so leave " .

  Such calloused assholes not paying any attention to what she was saying , it's so disgusting. I admire this lady. And the guy who filmed it. More of these situations need to be filmed to expose the callousness of these brain dead elders

  Answer : When he started beforehand having aspirations and the goal to have more power and say in becoming a future GB member.

  And what are the implications ?

  Answer : Just that he's bat shit crazy like the rest of the GB members wanting to consolidate power and control over believing JW's thinking ( mistakenly ) that he and the rest of the GB are appointed by " Christ "

  he says armageddon is not a nuclear holocaust or an asteroid hitting the earth it's god's war against all the political nations of the earth.

  he talks about a celestial phenomenon that will be phenomenal.

  It's just another con game coming out of the mouth of a GB member used as a marketing tool to get JW's to trust that WT leaders have all the answers- which they do not have of course. Anthony Morris has nowhere to hide but behind the billions of $$$ that WT Society is siphoning off from rank & file JW's. In time that money will disappear and the Houdini act WT Society has been pulling over on JW's will vanish as well

  Boyfriend force me to study the bible or no marriage

  my boyfriend, who is a disfellowshipped jehova's witness, asks me to study the bible for 3 months or he won't marry me (i'm a muslim woman).

  he loves me and really wants to marry me but he is doing a passive blackmailing: if i don't study for 3 months, 1 time per week, in my home country, and without him, there will be no marriage... as a muslim, i believe the bible is god's word so i look at the bible from time to time and would be happy to study with him.

  but the fact that he is kind of saying "study the bible or bye bye no marriage" is really hurtful.

  MUSLIM WOMAN - I'm so sorry you are being treated like this from your boyfriend. No man who has real respect for women would treat a loved one that way.

  Your questions : Should I be submissive and study the Bible in order to get married while he doesn't even want to look up some info about my religion ? NO you should NOT be submissive. Your boyfriend is mentally abusive and trying to dominate you. Dump this boyfriend and find a man who truly looks at you as an equal and doesn't dominate or control you.

  Your other question : Or keep trying to convince him to compromise a little bit and look at some info about my religion which is Islam ? NO again. Jehovah's Witnesses do not compromise on any of their beliefs. You are beating your head against a brick wall by trying to convince this boyfriend to listen to you.

  Hear me now - carefully- if you respect YOURSELF and don't want a life where your prospective husband dominates or abuses you mentally, emotionally, or physically , RUN LIKE HELL from a boyfriend like this, I don't want to see you live with regret. Find yourself a good man who values your opinions and sees you as his equal, not a slave or " lesser " person. You asked for my opinion- I've given it to you.   in the aftermath of the valentine's day school shooting in florida, i have read quite a number of articles, blogs and posts about the event.

  it is disturbing--and i think inexcusable--that many people take the opportunity to use horrible tragedies such as this to push their own particular agenda.. in particularly insensitive and tone-deaf tweet, conservative political commentator tomi lahren wrote: "can the left let the families grieve for even 24 hours before they push their anti-gun and anti-gunowner agenda?

  Exactly. Think of Ted Bundy as one example of that. A psychopathic killer who everybody thought the world of and just coddled him and pampered him until he murdered all those women. Not one person ever called him on his shit. You are correct- more people in the lives of these mass murderers need to be more adept at noticing symptoms of anger and rage and then making sure these threats to society are either put into serious counseling or if need be an institution, or disciplined by authorities of some kind to prevent them from murdering and taking more innocent people out
