q. how do you explain the millions that have left or were dfd/dad from jws?.

Good thread Kairos. I can only speak for myself - but after being born into the pretend " truth " from birth and in it until age 44 over 13 years ago- I left basically because I got extremely tired of being controlled in every step I took in life. If I looked at someone wrong- it's a congregation matter. If I went down on my wife- it's a congregation matter. If I wore white socks while carrying a microphone at a meeting instead of colored socks- I'd get counseled by an elder. I mean- you get my point. The micromanagement is totally flipping INSANE.

I actually chose LIFE instead of death. Living in such a high controlled, mind manipulation , indoctrinated cult that's made up of nothing but lies is nothing short of choosing to be driven into a psychiatric ward. And I couldn't choose that- because I value my freedom of mind and freedom of movement. So- In a nutshell that's my 2 cents on the matter. Peace out, see ya soon bud, Mr. Flipper

Is a born-in brought up in a JW home like being a child inmate being raised in prison?

i bring up this subject because of all the restrictions children have to endure in the jw cult.

they are made prisoners of mind and body.

being forced to do things that are not natural for children to do.

STILL TOTALLY ADD- Great thread, thanks for posting it. Like yourself I was born & raised in the JW cult - and I guess a tad luckier. Although my elder dad made it very difficult for me to develop any kind of lasting self esteem- because nothing I did was ever good enough for him - my JW mom was VERY supportive to me and never judged me as an " unworthy " or anything . She even liked my rock n ' roll music growing up ( much to the chagrin of my elder father ) .

My home as a youth felt like a " prison " when my dad would come down on me like a damned drill sergeant in the army Or lose his temper and whack me one even though he didn't understand the situation before he started getting physically aggressive towards me. But my mom was always there to save him from himself and prevent him from totally making a dick of himself. And in so doing- she won my deepest respect and I was able to survive being raised up a JW. I still left home at age 18 to get out from under my dad's iron hand authority - but it made it much more bearable having a mother who was on my side and truly loved me- even enough to stand up to her staunch elder husband when he was not fair or unjust to me. If not for her help- I don't know where or what I'd be today. She truly made me the man I am today. One reason I miss her so much since she died . Take care , Peace out, Mr. Flipper

How Long Out Before They leave You Alone

many years ago i met an older man in the ministry who told me he was a baptized jw years ago, when i met him he was an alchoholic and had girlfriends, i told the elders, two came by and they told me to treat him as a regular worldly guy, my question is (i know this is a fuzzy area) about how much time needs to go by before someone (me for instance) would be looked upon as a non jw worldly person?.

I know I stopped attending in 2003 and the elders in my old congregation kept trying to get a hold of me for several months afterwards- I just ignored their phone messages. Eventually they stopped for 3 years. But what put me BACK on their radar was that some JW relatives tried reporting me to elders about misconduct- and suddenly - Bingo- I was back on their radar again- even after not attending meetings for almost 4 years.

Desirous of Change is correct. If elders see you as a possible " danger " or " influence " on other active JW's still attending - that will make elders get very aggressive and come after you. Or if like me- JW family PUTS you back on the radar without your permission- the elders can get all Nazi again and try to make your life miserable. Eventually they stopped trying against me as I beat them at their own game by threatening a lawsuit. WT Society told them to leave me alone. So I once again had peace restored to my life. Crazy stuff man- I tell you

STEPHANE- Good thread, thanks for posting. I'm really happy to see that you and your wife are experiencing many varied interests and enjoying life ! When we were in the JW cult - we were never really LEARNING anything we were just being INDOCTRINATED or mind controlled like puppets to put forth the WT Society's message.

Like you and your wife In the 13 years I've been out I've enjoyed pursuing writing & playing music, exploring in the mountains, reading tons of books on history, cut back my business from 5 nights a week to 3 nights a week- yet still make about the same if not more $$$ . Life has been getting better and better the more involved with these pursuits I enjoy. My wife and I grow a beautiful organic vegetable garden on our mountain property and breathe fresh air. What more could you ask for, right ? Many of us here are SO lucky that we escaped this dangerous mind control cult while we still have time in life to enjoy positive pursuits- it's really how I look at things now. Absolutely disgusting. Teaching JW kids to trivialize death. Next thing you know they'll have a service meeting part explaining how at " Armageddon " kids should get out random coloring books and draw pictures of what they are experiencing watching people die.

I always think I've seen so much disgusting filth from the WT Society and this JW cult that I won't be shocked anymore. And then I see something like this - and I continue to be shocked. Perhaps some hidden Bethel apostate could put a " connect the dot " coloring thingie of all 8 GB members sitting around a conference table with little pins stuck in their heads titled " This is what mind control looks like children "

As a then JW teenager being raised in the JW cult in 1975 - I can attest to the FEAR tactics used in talks at assemblies, kingdom halls by Circuit Overseers and District Overseers in 1974 to scare JW's into more field service, scare them into never missing a meeting for fear that they'd DIE at Armageddon if they " slacked off " . The JW organization was REALLY hardcore back then. And these malignant comments WERE made by these WT appointed men that " we don't know if we'll have another assembly in this system of things, but Jehovah willing we'll be in the paradise by 1975 ! " I mean- I heard this crap being said publicly over the platform often in 1974. Now - Here I am 42 years after 1975 in my late 50's with adult children and a grandchild. WT leaders should be thrown into prison and told " you'll get out within " this generation " " - and then never let out. Peace out, mr. Flipper

Thanks for posting this Barbara. It's just disgusting how much this keeps happening within the JW organization. I hope the exposure of these crimes becomes more abundant and we start seeing these crimes hit major news outlets to where it draws more attention to the WT Society's failed child abuse policies. It needs to be more exposed big time

This whole thing about " persecution" in the WT Society variation of the term - is about maintaining control of even inactive JW's. As was mentioned by Sanderson even the inactive JW's are coming back saying " the end is near " . And as we notice even inactive JW's who don't attend meetings for 5 or 10, or even 20 years can STILL be under the influence of WT Society mind control where the slightest change in the world scene ( Trump getting elected, Russians persecuting JW's ) can cause JW cult mind control to flare up in their brains.

I was a perfect example of that. Born and raised in the JW cult - I initially stopped attending in 1998 after getting DFed - remaining so for 4 years. But when the 9/11 attacks happened due to not losing the WT mind control - I freaked out thinking " Armageddon " was happening and wanted to get reinstated which I did for my then teenage daughters in 2002. But before long I saw the hypocrisy of the organization and the elders and I left for good as an inactive Ex-JW in 2003. Since then I educated myself about mind control and never looked back . Still have freedom of mind in 2017. Now I'd never go back.

But this whole " we are being persecuted by the Russians ! " and blaming it on " Satan " allegedly " proving the end is near " - is all WT Society dogma and mind control indoctrination tactics used to whip JW's into a frenzy into staying in the JW organization for supposed " protection " . In reality staying in the JW organization sets these people up as targets with marks on their backs as an extreme mind control cult. That's all Sanderson is doing is the gross manipulation and fear mongering among rank & file JW's so they'll stay controlled by WT leaders in the cult. Pretty twisted. Just like Malawi. It's like being " martyrs " for no purpose whatsoever because " paradise " and " eternal life " is an unreality- so Russian JW's are standing up for something that's not real - there will be no reward or light at the end of the tunnel- very sad and very criminal of Sanderson and all the GB members to make JW's think they'll be rewarded for " dying for their beliefs "

so it's not enough that i'm dealing with post traumatic stress/anxiety and panic attacks all related to my life as a jw (50 years baptized -- i stopped going a couple of months ago) at 3 a.m. i get an email from the other side of the world.

As a teenager in 1974 I remember a Circuit Overseer - Floyd Kite to be exact- excitedly proclaiming that the 1974 district convention would quite possibly be our " last in this system of things " and that if " Jehovah wills " - we would " have our next assembly in 1975 in paradise " .

WT Society and JW' s have been doing and saying this for years. Don't worry Phoebe, you are safe. I was 15 years old when this C.O. said this in 1974. I'll be 58 years old this October- and still nothing's happened. Go live your life and experience happiness and enjoyment in this life we have. You are safely out of a mind control cult now. Try to enjoy your freedom of mind. Take care, we are here as a support to you

Thanks for sharing. Talk about micromanagement ! Jesus. Perhaps too many elders were conducting WT Studies and not reading scriptures out of the Bible - who knows ? I mean in the bigger picture the WT leaders value their own pretend " wisdom " than they do the Bible- but in order to keep controlling the JW masses they have to keep giving the APPEARANCE that they value the Bible's opinion over their own- even if in reality they really don't.

Once again- it's all about OUTWARD appearance in order to maintain control over the JW " flock " . Kind of how I see this
