how did we get involved with this group and think this was the best way of life?.

i asked my wife to stay home from the meeting tonight and spend the evening with me.she is.... we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary this past monday.. i must admit, i never saw any of this coming, but it couldn't have come sooner.i'm free of all the fake friendships.

According to the " worldly " dictionary ( you know that REAL book of definitions ) generation means : " 3. a single stage or degree in the succession of natural descent ( father and son are two generations ) 4. the average period ( about thirty years ) between the birth of one generation and that of the next. "

So this is the REAL definition- no matter WHAT the GB or WT leaders say. They're so full of it they need a spiritual lobotomy

the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.

Bottom line is the WT Society redefines definitions of words into some fantasy made up definitions to suit their own doctrines.

REAL definition of the word " generation " in the Webster's New World College Dictionary : " generation - 3. a single stage or degree in the succession of natural descent ( father and son are two generations ) 4. the average period ( about thirty years ) between the birth of one generation and that of the next . "

So - Not too difficult to understand.

WT Society's definition is : generation about 70 years 1914 - 1984 .

The REAL world's definition is : generation is 30 years.

So in reality from 1914 to 2015 it has actually been 3 generations plus 11 years.

If you count from 1879 to 2015 ( when Russell first made these asinine predictions ) it has in the real world been exactly 4 generations plus 16 years.

I swear I'm getting tempted real soon to start a thread on WT Society fake definitions of words compared to REAL definitions of words. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

A poll of sorts: How long have you been a "fader" for?

i'm curious about the following:.

1) how long have you been a fader for?.

2) how often do you still get pressure from congregation members and/or family to return as an active witness?.

1. Been out in an inactive state for 12 years.

2. Was pressured the first few years by my adult JW daughters , but I don't receive too much pressure if ever now. One of my daughters wrote me a " pressuring ' letter in early summer of 2015 - but that's because she's having a baby.

3. I know several people on the board here who have faded out of sight for about 20 years- but to never receive any pressure to " go back " to the WT organization- you'd have to move to the Arctic, a remote island, or the moon.

4. I don't fear getting DFed anymore- because I refuse to talk to any elders. The elders already tried to DF me in 2007 ( 4 years after I faded ) on trumped up false charges- I stood up to them and threatened them with a lawsuit if they DFed me. WT legal told them to back down and they overturned my DFing and I won my appeal of my DFing. They don't like dealing with people who stand up to them.

5. Some of my extended JW family ( my mom & dad & brother ) still keep contact with me, but some of my JW family treats me like I'm DFed even though I faded. So it's a mixed bag depending on how fanatic the JW is I'm dealing with.

6. I've faded due to the fact I want to keep a relationship with my older mom whom I am really close with. AND the hope that I will have an opportunity to assist my adult JW daughters to see TTATT. And I also faded so as to hopefully not be cut out of the family inheritance or will.

7. ZERO meetings or assemblies for 12 years now. Proud of it.

8. Yes, I feel the organization is completely powerless over my life- however- that doesn't mean that I can throw caution to the wind in dealing with my older JW elder dad, brother, or my JW mom. I'll still be respectful , yet require they show me respect in return.

Here's the deal- sure I could disassociate if I wanted to- but to me then it shows I acknowledge the WT Society's rules of engagement - and I do NOT acknowledge their rules of engagement. I play by my own rules. IT's a control thing for me. I feel that over the long haul I can do more good for my still in JW family by continuing as a faded ex-JW who might be able to share TTATT with my adult daughters, perhaps even a older JW sibling or two as time goes by. Plus there is the " inheritance " factor. So for me anyway in my situation it makes more sense to stay inactive. For other people it may be right to get DFed or to DA themselves- but everybody's circumstances are different- these are just my personal circumstances. Hope that helped your survey

Do you find it hard to be around active JW's now?

i do - actually, it's become close to unbearable.. and herein lies the paradox: i tried to fade in the illusion that i might keep contact with family and friends still "in".

was it worth it?

because not only most of them shun me anyways, but i find it almost unbearable to be around them, especially when the cult chit chat kicks in: every cute animal video clip triggers endless comments about glimpses of the future paradise and how "god did it"; those greasy praises to the organization and the governing body; the dumb awe about every jw broadcast and those cheesy music videos; the endless drivel against other religions when one knows perfectly well that we're no better than them; the endless flow of "experiences" of field service or spectacular conversions into "the truth"; the relentless congregation gossip; and so on .... i ask myself: is this why i am fading for ...?

I do find it difficult to be around JW's for sure. But as Desirous of Change and John Aquila stated if any of the JW's I used to know wanted to chat with me about TTATT - Ill be there in a heartbeat for them - as long as I know they're being honest wanting to really know information and not " setting me up " to stir up trouble for me with some of my still in JW extended family.

I have lots of ex-JW and non-JW friends that I 'm happy with and who see me for who I really am- not for who they WANT me to be like my JW former friends. And being authentic, real and genuine is very important to me - I tried to fake it for years as a JW - not going to put that pressure on myself anymore- there's no REASON to. Peace out, mr. Flipper

It is disgusting how prevalent child abuse has become within the Jehovah's Witness organization. It's a criminal organization allowing " child molesting " criminals to continue unpunished within the walls of WT Society protection away from police authorities who would " give Jehovah ( translation WT Society ) a bad name " if WT officials let police handle these abuses. Well, it's high time " Jehovah " gets a bad name in my opinion. WT Society claims to represent " Him " - so let WT leaders pay the price.

I hope this perpetrator in Santa Ana gets prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

DEFENDER- Thanks for posting this. As Magwitch stated it IS amazing how these idiotic dolts could even THINK that anybody owes them respect and " honor ". They throw themselves underneath the WT Society bus and what do they get in return ? They get run over by the bus . Still no eternal life. And WT leaders let them flounder in the wind or flop on a dry beach like a fish out of water . Incredible
