they're saying the prophecy is possibly fulfilled of "peace and security and then sudden destruction" in the year 1986 when world leaders dubbed that year as the "year of peace".
the feb.1st watchtower mentions that just as a pregnant woman over 9 months gradually has signs of a baby's growth in the womb, so too, we may have a fulfillment of bible prophecy without knowing it fully beforehand until the effects and results become obvious.
my mother read excerpts of the wt.

i think the mormons are trying a new tactic.. i got a call yesterday from the mormon church in salt lake city.
it seems one of my malaysian friends, is a bishop or something with the church in malaysia.
i knew he had been in slc recently, because he called me one night.
Mormons don't practice shunning in the same way that those who "simply leave the [Jehovah's Witness] faith are not shunned."
As usual, the life-stories of ex-members tell a different tale. See the similarities between Mormons and JW's here for instance: http://www.exmormon.org/mormon/mormon150.htm
More accounts from former members: http://www.exmormon.org/mormon/topics_by_subject.htm
A good page on Mormonism is here, if anyone is interested: http://home.teleport.com/~packham/#MORMONISM

washington george w. bush and hillary rodham clinton are finally on the same ticket the most admired man and woman in america, according to a poll released monday.. the republican president and the democratic senator from new york and former first lady wont be found on the same sides of many political issues.
And Clinton was the most admired president throughout his presidency!
That's because with Democrats the margin of error is virtually infinite.

i think the people who said's that they are going to heaven is the ones who are so upset that when they lose a love one or see death, they just put aside and say in their heart that armageddon is not coming, a new earth is not coming, therefore im going or we "must" go to heaven.. i dont agree with the jw on everything(some things they say dont make no damn sense), but one thing they taught me is that god's cares for his footstool.
in the bible it said's: the earth was creator for a purpose and this purpose was not made in vain, the earth has a purpose, behold the earth is the home of humans.
the bible is full of evidence that the god will not get rid of the earth and a new holy city(which is a new heaven and a new earth) is coming.
I prefer to talk the way people talk in the king james bible
Nay, giveth not that which if holy unto ye dogf, neither caft ye thy pearlf before fwine, left they trampleth them under their feet, and turn again and rendeth you, verily.

alright i understand that this board is full of non-believers, maybe you believe in evolution(which btw i hate very much) or maybe you are a atheist.
and another thing i notice is that this board is very much against the jw's.
anyway i might be only 22, but i know and i understand more things in this world than half the suckas in this world.
Jesus didn't say "suckas".

having been "out" for many years and also having family that has been "in" for just as many, it occurs to me that i hear the same tired old dub put-downs with monotous regularity.. these include:.
"giving up smoking is easy for new witnesses.
they get special help from jehovah, you see.".
Did you know if you replace the letters in "SANTA" you can come up with "SATAN"?"
Did you know that if you rearrange the letters in "Jehovah!" you can come up with "Jove hah!"?

for those who still believe in jesus and his purpose and in a god who is creator.
do you feel it is appropriate to hang in place as such when the scriptures teaches us "not to cast pearls before swine?
" please tell me your feelings on this subject as i feel that i should not be here but for some reason keep returning....do we believers feel that we can make some good here and is that why we continue to come here?
What I really want to know is why do pigs get such a bad rap all the time? Either they're accused of not being worthy of pearls (who really are but oysters?), or they're being linked with chauvanism and bad behaviour. When have you ever seen a pig discriminate on the basis of gender, hey?
It's slanderous, that's what it is. Pigs are intelligent, not pig-headed like humans. And they're clean in their own way. And when a pig becomes your friend, that pig is always your friend!
Besides all that, when you slice 'em thin and fry 'em, they're delicious! How many Christians can you say that of?

Because they will have to ??? ... no, no, no I would say : IF THEY CAN ! not the same ... again the west is not god !
Well I kind of agree with you. Workers in the West will have to try and upgrade their skills, and if they can, then they will succeed. If they cannot, they will not succeed. That is a meritocracy at work. Now, the smarter companies who are offshoring will provide training and opportunities to employees whose jobs will be relocated, before they take the offshore route. That way the pain will be minimized, and the company will already have created a more highly skilled workforce for more advanced developments. This may be the difference between success and failure for these companies. Again, meritocracy at work.
This is not to say that companies should have to do this. People are not owed a certain level of income, nor are they owed a job at all. But it will be interesting to see how the smarter companies approach higher levels of offshoring.
As an aside, when I state my views on free trade economics I often receive the ire of both those who fall under the groupings of "liberals" and "conservatives". "Liberals because it goes against their ideal of the father-like state providing security and social guarantees, and "conservatives" because, while they may support free trade as long as it benefits their own country, when it appears on the surface not to, their commitment to it fizzles. My views on this subject are "libertarian", or as an acquaintance would phrase it "completely off the f*^%%* poitical wall!".....lol
