I was embarrassed, isolated and beat on as a kid in school, just like many JW kids. There are a lot of JW parents who relish the fact that thier children are suffering for Jehovah.

I can't say that my ritual is a good one. Today I drained the fish pond, shoveled fish poop and refilled the pond. It's now ready for summer.

My friend needs help and I don't know what to tell her...Please help.
by FreedomFrog inas you all know, my son is in baseball.
of course i'm getting to know the other mothers there on the team.

Your friends exhubby is an a$$. I suppose that's why he's an ex. Does he intend to bring the boy to the game? If he does he should stop on the way and pick up a hat and cleats. It wouldn't hurt him. He should be investing in quality time with his son and be more supportive in his sons interests. If money is an issue for him, they should work something out.

Nicotine Withdrawl - How long does it go on for?
by Clam inthe last couple of weeks haven't been too good.
my wife has given up smoking.
initially it was out of necessity as she had had her tonsils removed, but as she got used to doing without her cigarettes she felt as though she might as well give up altogether.

I've got that problem and my wife hasn't smoked in years. Ha ha
Seriously, she's almost there, be patient.

The funny thing is that it really does work and will make you smile.
1. Picture yourself lying on your belly on a warm rock that hangs out
over a crystal clear stream.
2. Picture yourself with both your hands dangling in the cool running
water.
3. Birds are sweetly singing in the cool mountain air.
4. No one knows your secret place.
5. You are in total seclusion from that hectic place called the world.
6. The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade
of serenity.
7. The water is so crystal clear that you can easily make out the face of
the person you are holding underwater.
See? It really does work. You're smiling already -

Strong nor Valuable
by RAF instrong nor lets say : strong-valuable relationship.
to really get into this subject i have to put superficial relationships aside because if superficiality has its place in life (when we are bored), i guess it is still superficial (to call a cat a cat).
whish doesnt mean that a superficial relationship cant become a strong nor valuable one but it takes time nor specific natural ways or opportunity (good or bad for one or the other if not both) to get there, in being based on something effective (= a real connection) or something quiet embarrassing (= a need) because it is not really effective in friendship in fact.

To me a real friend is the one which wouldn’t care losing me because he/she tells me the truth about what he thinks about me (even if it’s bad) because I guess that the reason why he/she would do that wouldn’t be to hurt me, but to help me to be aware of it and taking care.
That sums it up well for myself and my greatest and truest friend. We've reached a point where we can say, "you were/are an a$$" on an issue and we have to agree with each other. More than being there is the appreciation for being there.

We need to contribute so JWD doesn't shut down so often
by restrangled ini suggest we all contribute $5.00 to $10.00 per year so that the site does not shut down on a regular basis.. this would allow simon to hire a server site that is reliable.
i have never seen a site go down so often.. if simon is in agreement and you are too, would you post here ?.
my husband hosts many sites including huge hotels for the government.

Thanks for the update Simon.

No doubt they'll all be getting excited that this is yet another sign that we are living in the last days.
Clam ( yawning and nodding off at the expression "last days")
The JWs get up in the morning, turn on the news and always find something that says were living in the last days.

I am surprised
by DazedAndConfused ini thought my initial post about this was important, at least more important than this post "fluff thread - what's your view on farting in public?
" please read on.. i started a thread entitled "free knocking preview on thursday in pittsburgh, pa." i thought a few people at least, if not a lot, might respond with thoughts about how to approach this subject if one to were to actually go to this "free" viewing and discussion.. i am specifically alerting others that it is a free showing of the program and that the director is going to sit down and discuss this program (free i might add) with anyone that wants to discuss it.. i am not from the pittsburg area and was hoping someone might go to the viewing and state "our" views on the knocking program.
i have seen many threads dealing with the program and thought someone might be interested in anti-witnessing.

I had opened, I think, a Knocking post and read the producers had decided to cancel a show with two witnesses because they didn't realize there would be so much opposition to it. I might be wrong and maybe it has nothing to do with your post.
Many posts that require biblical knowledge I never open because I can't contribute. I rejected the bible at a young age and refused to learn most of it.
The post on farting I never opened because I didn't want to contribute.
I feel all posts do have value. Interest is different. You can interest some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.
