Jesus didn't care about chronologies and bible knowledge--why should we?
by humbled inwhen i read the gospels, i don't find a bunch of numbers.
i loved that jesus talked in a way that left me wide open to respond to god.
"love god with your whole heart, mind, soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself".

Head covering for women--how did you feel about this? Men? Women?
by humbled inthinking about how this felt awkward to some of us women when a bible student noticed something was "up" if a baptised brother sat in on a study.
had to reference 1 cor.
11:1-16.. i wonder if this irked any while you were still in?.

Do you think Jesus WANTED to be turned into a religion?
by humbled instuff that has happened to me and people of other religions that i've met and read about--it makes me wonder if the caretakers of "holy writings" haven't bent us with their theology and pedantry.. i don't think jesus wanted us to make a religion.. he offered an experience of faith that was first and foremost an invitation.
the gospels--even if half diluted with error can't dispel the experiences we feel if we accept these words at face value: john 7:17-18.. i can't stay on- going to doctors today.. thanks.

"Do not be called teachers"--Doesn't Jesus OUTLAW all organized religion?
by humbled injw's and other churches all set up housekeeping in different theological areas.
some one person can't believe any more what their church is saying, gets a different "take" on god, and......starts trying to convince others to follow them and everything they teach.. nothing new about that.
but why are so many of us blind to this scenario: we allow that some people get to contemplate other thoughts and others are not allowed.only some lead and everyone else must follow or be thrown out.

by humbled inthat's what my oldest son said when i texted that our little red hen, goldie, against all odds, hatched herself a chick tonight.
nearly midnight now and i checked--there's another one breaking out to join the first one--.

Not A Captive got Humbled
by humbled ini'm sure the more discerning of you thought that the silly, green, wooly-headed avatar called "humbled" that strolled on the scene here looked familiar....... it is i, nac, with a new given name come back for a visit since i have internet for a while.
i have missed you these three years.
i've been in a far away land--the ozark mountains of nw arkansas.. because i've been blessed with anal canal cancer (nothing so hum-drum as rectal cancer) circumstances allow me to share your company 'til my sad bum can get radiated more-or-less back into shape.. any quality potty-humor (no naughty bm's---oops!---.

P R O U D of H E R: Daughter's column in the New York Times
by humbled inshe called last night to say it's online now, front page.
it'll be in the print version sunday.. not everyone's cup of tea, at first consideration: she is slightly embarrassed to be featured in the modern love column in the style section.. the times people asked to make a short video of her article "fight or flight".
they went to her bronx apartment to talk to her.
