experience has left me with a revulsion to titles.
I find I detest certain titles.
For example, before I retired when I would be responding to letters we received, I had no problem writing back to Dr. Whoever. If the letter came in signed Reverend or Pastor Somebody, I just could not bring myself to use those terms. I addressed the response to Mr. Somebody.
it happens every summer.
the family will be in a nice routine, going out a reasonable amount in service and having normal life.
then there is an a$$embly, and then everything locks down.

Last year I was travelling and got into a horrible Texas thunderstorm. I stopped at the first hotel I came to which turns out to have been owned by the Hiltons.
A couple months later I get a phone call from the Hilton corporation offering me a deal to stay in another of their hotels. I told the guy I did not realize Hilton owned that hotel and that I would never knowingly stay at a Hilton hotel because I could not stand Paris H. and was not wanting to supply her or her family with any more money.
That was the first time he ever heard that response and thought it was interesting. We had a nice chat - very nice young man.

remember, gordon brown is a workaholic, a guy who was uk chancellor of the exchequer for over 10 year, highly intellectual and highly motivated.

I watched a few minutes of a press conference that was on tv earlier today with Brown & Bush.
The reporters tried to ask Brown some questions and Bush wouldn't let him talk. Bush just jumped in running his mouth.
The reporter asked the question again and Bush jumped in - again - running his mouth. He acted like a child trying to keep all attention on himself! I was getting so irritated I changed the channel.
i noticed a number of people have already had their summer a$$emblies, and fall a$$emblies are yet to come.
what i would like to see is how many have noticed a deficit on the last afternoon accounts report, and if known, about how big was it.
also, did they have a surplus at an earlier report, particularly if the surplus was big and the amount of the deficit was impossibly large.

i've dove in florida, the caribbean, the graat lakes, and a number of other puddles.. my last major trip was key west.

I will never have the nerve to scuba dive but I absolutely love to snorkel in calm waters.
I went snorkeling at St Johns and St Croix in the US Virgin Islands; in Hawaii on the Big Island and down the Itchetucknee River at the State Park in Florida.
minu, you might want to try snorkeling first just to get an idea of what's down there. I can't swim very good so always wear a ski belt that gives me just enough support I can just relax and enjoy watching the fish & stuff.

i recently saw a video regarding the rapture.
I'm not buying it at this point - maybe some day. I read all of the Left Behind series of books. It is a very thought provoking story but I can't get beyond my feeling that the Rapture is fiction. Maybe it's because that term is never used in the scriptures.
Seems I recall reading Russell believed in the Rapture when he first got his group of bible students started.
this has been an interesting week.
early in the week my wife started corresponding with one of her old friends.
he is no longer a witness and while i'm not sure what the catalyst was they started talking about why he left the witnesses.

I think it depends on the area you are in as you suggested.
I was raised in the southeast US which was deep in the bible belt and very conservative. I still can't believe I was never df'ed. After I had been out for a few years a male companion moved in with me for about a year. During that time my father advised me the elders wanted to talk to me. (I had been baptized at age 12 and was about 35 at this point.) I told him I was not speaking to them and that nothing I did was any of their business. While the elders never pursued me, the family did choose to shun me during the time the fellow was living in my home.
After he moved out they all decided to start talking to me again.
