"I don't think we pray enough for those trapped in this controlling cult". Funny statement....Why do we need to ask God....I thought he sees and hears all things and he's a just and righteous God. Why can't he intervene? Do we have to force him with our prayers? Just a thought!!!

Baffling comment by my JW parents about non-witness funeral
by joyfulfader inmy parents attended the funeral of an elderly family member today.
being out of state i was unable to attend.
i asked how it went and was told that "worldly" people don't care enough about anyone to mention anything personal.

New Initiatives for Public Witnessing
by eyeuse2badub ini went to the meeting last night because my grandson had his first bible reading.
so i also suffered through the sales (aka service) meeting.
during the part on new initiatives for public witnessing i noticed how precise the wtbts was in disclosing exactly how many magazines and books were distributed, 3,797 and 7,986 respectively.

"Many passersby requested a Bible study."
That's one of the biggest lie i've heard in a while.
Where i live in Southern California i see mostly Latino witnesses doing street work ...four of them standing by a busy shopping center and what i notice no one approches them and when they go up to people ...the people turn around and walk away.
No one wants a bible study from a JW.

In 2005 after 32 years in the Org. i started questioning the teaching and eventually came to conclusion that the watchtower is just another religion that claims to have the only "truth".
Once i spoke to my wife about my doubts, eventually she turned me in to the elders and along with her father who has been in the org. since the 50's tried to get me DF.
Never got DF , just walked away but my 26 year marriage came to an end. My oldest daughter has not talked to me since March 2009. Fortunately my two other girls left the watchtower also.l

Once you make the decision to get out and some time goes by and start living your own life it's like a load of brick off your shoulder.
We have been in your shoes and have felt the same way. Get out and stop making yourself miserable.

We're Jehovah's Witnesses. We speak out in fearlessness.........
by punkofnice inthen why aren't the gb personally going out and spearheading the preaching in places like china for instance and muslim countries?.
no money in it?.
they are afraid of getting killed?.
-
sspo
They know it's a waste of time and might have missionary killed. They say they are in China but how many have become JW ? They are in India but after 100 years of preaching to 1.2 billion people they have failed miserably.

I lived in Hemet,CA and the local congr. set up tables with literature in a shopping center, usually older, retired brother and sisters would sit there for 8 hrs a day. The many times i would go in, have never, never seen a soul stopping by and taking any literature or talking to the brothers. Personally i think it's a waste of time and another scheme by the watchtower to keep JW busy.

"20,000/month being baptized into the organization"
by NeverKnew inthis is something i heard an elder say... .
is this possible?.
how many were baptized in all of 2012?.
-
sspo
How many truly are accepting the "truth" from the field. I would not be surprised if 95% getting baptized were raised in the religion, brainwashed from the day they are born.

Why do witnesses listen to their GB
by speargrass55 inhello everyone, i want us to discuss the gbs right to control jws.
the gb claim, and rf jws believe that they can't understand the bible without help from the gb.
when you ask them why they listen to the gb you hear stuff like .

None of the above. They continue to interpret the bible because they realize the doctrines and prophecies don't make sense or not fulfilled and they are forced to come up with new thing. God is not involved a bit...it's a man made organization like all the rest.
