My wife has finally seen the light.
by Ironhead infor 18 months i have been at loggerheads with my wife over the wts.
she has been the perfect watchtower slave even declaring that she'll never leave the truth.
i decided not to interfere in her life, attacking the society, and the idiots in the hall, but recently things have changed for the best.

For me it's all about the C(13)H(18)ClNO (aka Bupropion, aka Wellbutrin.) Of course everyone is different and everyone's depression springs from a different source.
An excellent side effect of Wellbutrin is that it acts as a sexual enhancer for many people.
Go to crazymeds.org that Wednesday linked. It's a great reference site for antidepressants and other mood drugs. -

Check out this hypocrital conduct
by avidbiblereader inlast night was my oldest daughters birthday (22), we went out for supper with some friends and family, we went into the texas roadhouse where she serves bar and waits tables, they have this one thing they do for birthdays where all the servers sing, yell and clap, they also ask you to "saddle up" which means to sit on a saddle they bring out on wheels as they all yell and howler, real fun, though!.
well sitting behind us is a whole table of witness from my sister hall that i use to go to, mother with three grown kids (25, 22, 21) and their spouses, they watched and didn't say a word to me and wouldn't even make eye contact with me, oooh i am the bogey man.. well guess what they did after we left, they didn't know my daughter didn't leave yet.
saddled up two of their own, clapped and sang birthday songs..

I actually think that's pretty good news. The more Witnesses that feel free to lead "double lives" [JW-speak], the better.

The Question Non-Jws hate to hear! (Unless they're athiests)
by Mad indid jesus have a god that he worshipped?
-

Yes. Jesus took part in the Jewish system of sacrifice, festival, synagogue. He also prayed.
Why do you say non-JW's hate to hear that question? -

Education gets yet another bashing!!
by Gill ineducation takes yet another battering in the may 1st watchtower.. the mag gives this example:.
young christians today face similar challeges.
matthew, who serves at a branch office of jehovah's witnesses recalls: 'when i began serving as a pioneer, my father was extremely disappointed.

I had doubts and questions for years, but it was educating myself about evolution that really did it for me. Even if you don't accept evolution, you have to agree that the Society's portrayal of it to their members is full of lies, half-truths, and deliberate deceptions.
It was my realization that I'd been lied to about what evolutionary theory really said that was the opening of the floodgates. This wouldn't have happened without I educated myself.
The Society is right. Education (and therefore reality) is their biggest enemy. -

New Corporate Smoking Policy - Need some suggestions.
by El Kabong ini work for a fairly large corporation.
our company is establishing a new tobacco policy where smokers and tobacco users are no longer allowed to use tobacco in any form, either cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chew, or snuff, anywhere on company property.
this includes inside or outside the building, the parking lot, or even in your own personal vehicle while in the parking lot.

Something tells me that this policy is unenforceable.

JEZEBEL: Star of this week's Book Study!! (With post-game highlights)
by Open mind injezebel played the starring role in this week's cbs of the revelation book.
i couldn't help but think of all you "strong willed" women on this site who dare to "step out of line".
yes, those are exact quotes plucked from this weeks lesson.

My wife, a faithful Witness, is Jezebel reborn. And as much hassle as that is, I wouldn't have it any other way. (Though don't ask me about it the next time we've gotten in a fight, you'll probably get a different answer.)

Do you think that "JW's" will get rid of the "Paradise earth" doctrine?
by booker-t inwith all of the changes regarding the 1935 closing of the heavenly calling that jw's taught for over 70 years what will be the next thing to go in their doctrinal system.
will they one day say"we were wrong the earth is going to burn up and all christians will go to heaven".
russell was right after all and yes the "great crowd" will indeed go to heaven.nothing suprises me anymore with the jw's.

I have to throw in with Blondie. Honestly the recent changes are just tweaks. When Witnesses think about what they believe in, they really don't dwell on or think about 1914, "this generation," the two classes of worshipers, chronology, two witnesses, the kings of the north and south, etc. They think:
Paradise Any Day Now, No Hell, No Trinity.
No matter how important it seems to the ex-JW community, to the average self-absorbed, ignorant Witness, none of those tweaks matter because they didn't really understand the doctrine behind them in the first place and they aren't key to why they are Witnesses anyways. I have seen Book Study conductors gloss over chronology- and prophecy fulfillment-related paragraphs so many, many times... They just want their perfect paradise. If they were Christians before becoming JW's, they are happy they don't have to worry about Hell anymore. And even the Trinity doctrine isn't that important compared to the other two--it's just a means of pointing at other religions and laughing at them. -

Poll: Are You For Protests & Marches Against The Witnesses?
by minimus indo you support such marches around kingdom halls?
would you personally hold a sign up to protest the watchtower society??
do you believe this is ultimately effective to get jehovah's witnesses out of the organization??
-

Enormous waste of time, if the objective is to get people out. The Witnesses laugh at protesters.
On the other hand it could be a cathartic experience for the person protesting, and thereby contribute to healing.
