Oh MAN are they ever annoyed in Brooklyn!
by MinisterAmos ini called the information dept politely asking if mr brown was still a witness after commiting verbal apostasy during the interview with ldh.. i got transferred to one of their legal staff and he dropped the "f" bomb and hung up!
i on the other hand was a complete gentleman.. i would call this a golden opportunity to play up what has to be one of the most embarrasing moments for the dub leadership but is actually an important issue that any current dubz should be concerned about.
what is the actual policy of the org?

Mister Amos, you can also tell them how upset and stumbled you were by the Brother using such foul language with you, when you called with a sincere question. Say it was language unbecoming a Christian! Ask thm to respond to you in writing what they are going to do about it.

No way! That fine Christian brother said the "F" word? You must've really rattled his cage, love it, love it alot! Yeah, 15-20 years ago, child molestation wasn't a problem...for them, only for the child. My, what's the world coming to? People having the nerve to speak out like this!

Governing Body member Gerrit Lösch spoke at my District Convention
by under_believer ingerrit losch (it's pronounced kinda like "lirsh") did two things at our dc (portland, or june 30-july 2).
he released the new book about the minor prophets, and he gave the closing talk, the one with the resolution in it.
first of all, losch was not promoted to the governing body because of his speaking ability.

He sounds like an odd, dysfunctional man. Oh, there's a surprise!

JWs look like "off-duty prozac-popping bank tellers"...
by Jankyn inhi, guys.
found this one on the alternet blog site, and had to share:.
from "but what if i think 'people of faith' are a little crazy?

I'm sure they would be amazed if they read this! The Dubs are very proud of their art, and think it's a marvelous, inspired depiction of what Jehoopla's new system will look like. They swallow every picture, hook line and sinker. They expect people at the door to believe without question, too, and have no inkling that most people think the pictures are too wierd for words!

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS?
by juni inpapajohn was just deleted for deceiving all of us and trash talking some kind people.. i don't know how someone can sign on as a newbie, have loving greetings come their way, ask questions and receive well thoughtout answers and then turn like a snake and say disgusting things to those that have wished them well.. i am glad that this mean-spirited person is gone.
i have feelings of betrayal like i experienced w/god's so-called organization.. peace to all of you ones with honest intentions.
and thank you forum assistants for handling it quickly.. juni

I didn't see what he did, but I think I had replied to one of his posts. Guess I'm still a bit gullible and easily fooled. We are trained to be much too trusting in the Dubs, and I still am. That somebody mean spirited came here, and not only wasted our time, but deliberately messed with good people, makes me so mad!

I understand too! When I was about 17, there was a tall, skinny, pimply kid of 19 who rode a bicycle to the Hall. He was always staring at me and maneuvering to get in our car group for service. My parents thought I should be paying attention to him, at least considering him for a suitor. What did we possibly have in commom, but that we were Dubs, and went to the same Hall. He eventually went off to Bethel but didn't stay long. He married a sister and they had five kids. She was a nurse and supported them all.
Wow, that coulda been me!

Not a part of this world..ain't that the truth!
by Virgochik inwhen jw's say they are no part of this world, i have to wonder if they know just how true that is.
if they could see themselves as others see them, carrying the scripture to the ridiculous extremes that some do.
for example, i had a recent conversation with (left un-named fro security reasons) elderly relatives.

When JW's say they are no part of this world, I have to wonder if they know just how true that is. If they could see themselves as others see them, carrying the scripture to the ridiculous extremes that some do. For example, I had a recent conversation with (left un-named fro security reasons) elderly relatives. No, they can't see themselves ever getting a computer. DVD's, no, still using VHS tapes to play movies. Swipe a debit card instead of writing checks? Too old to learn that one, will stick to holding up the line writing out a check. Online banking? Shaking head. Still using film cameras, digital is too modern. A new car? Frivolous, when the old one is just fine for service.
Granted, these people are older, and that may have a lot to do with their reluctance to keep up with modern things. But how many JW's see it as a virtue to avoid new technology or to keep up with new inventions and products? I think this is fostered by avoiding the internet, where online banking, shopping, etc. could be done. Even Witnessing is done in a very old fashioned way, door knocking instead of using the web. Anyone notice how backwards and Amish-like JW's can be? Why are they so stuck in a 1950's timewarp?
