Lilly, How about those no good tax collectors? The Pharisees wanted nothing to do with them. Who did Jesus have meals with? They Df'd Ray Franz for having a meal with his landlord ( df'd ). Guess if Jesus was alive today, they'd DF him for having a meal with those despised Tax collectors!!!

by Lilycurly insome of you might remember my situation....i have daed myself a while ago, and my father is the only jw in the family.
since i am very close to him and the family, he has read everything related to shunning, he even asked elders and even them are not sure.

Apostate music
by Bumble Bee inas a jw kid, i was always hearing about not listening to certain music.
one reason my mother called me apostate is because she saw some cd's i had - she called it gospel.
some of them were decidedly what is termed "chrisitan" music in the store, some are crossover artists (chrisitian but played on mainstream/top 40 radio) and there is alot of country music that is spiritual for lack of a better word.. i was always under the impression that "unapproved" music would be songs with lyrics that go against biblical principals - sex, drugs, etc, not music that promotes good things in life, or glorifiying god and jesus.

by greendawn inafter nearly two years i got fed up with my avatar and decided to change it, i noticed many people change theirs quite frequently.
because doctor evil (mike myers, who surprisingly also plays austin powers and fat scotman in the same films) really made me laugh i decided to put him as the new avatar.
i think myers is canadian.

Nathan Homer Knorr - Post your story about him here
by VM44 inthere have been much research lately into the biographies of ct russell and "judge" rutherford, the first and second presidents of the watchtower bible and tract society, but not so much research into the biography of the third president of the wbts, nathan homer knorr.. as there are many people still living, and who also post here at jwd, who knew nathan knorr personally, it might be worthwhile to start a thread about the life and personality of knorr.. so if anyone has any knorr stories, please post them here.
i will start off by posting some basic biographical information.. --vm44.
nathan homer knorr.

Results of "The Test" Are you a loner?
Your score = 80
What does your score mean? Some people would call you independent, others might say you're anti-social. You don't go out of your way to be with people, and actually prefer your own company to that of others! This may not pose any problems if you truly enjoy leading an isolated life, but you could be missing out on some great experiences and meaningful relationships. Give yourself a little nudge occasionally to spend some quality time with others, and you'll probably discover you like it more than you expected. Independence can be a real virtue, but humans are social animals. Don't deny that part of yourself that craves human contact!
Wow, Guess I need more contacts Huh??
