Would not be without it. (CAA) Have had it for 21 yrs. Both my wife and I have our own vehichles. They are both new but we have still used it on many occasions for flat tires, travel info, maps etc. Not to mention booking flights through them. It is a very reasonably priced form of insurance and we would not be without it, even though we have other such services from our auto maker. And as someone else mentioned most accomodations give 10% off if you are a member.

Anybody a member of AAA? Would you recommend it?
by AlmostAtheist ini'm thinking about joining the aaa auto club.
my car is getting along in years and isn't going to get replaced any time soon.
i'm imagining that my stranded-on-the-side-of-the-road moment is imminent.

Have you put your JW family behind you? Are you content with your decision
by nicolaou injust feeling a bit fed up.
it's not always like this i know but i'm wondering if life would be far easier for me and my wife if i just drew a line under all my efforts to maintain a relationship with my jw mother, brother and sisters.
all the rejection, judgementalism and condescension gets a bit much after a while.. how many here actually said 'goodbye' to their jw family and can honestly say they did not regret it?.

It will be 27 years this June that I lost all of my family parents, siblings. and children and grand children that I have never seen and now even great grand children so this has effected 4 generations of my family. I have made new friends that I know are real true friends so I cannot say I miss my family that much, but I guess we never stop loving our children. I have left messages with them that my door is always open if they decide that they want a relationship with me. So I suppose I have left my family behind and have moved on.

When did it all go wrong for the WTS? I say 1980's.....
by jambon1 inafter speaking to an elderly jw a few weeks ago, it occured to me that the wts genuinely experienced good times in the 50's and 60's, perhaps the 1970's.
it seemed a good place to be.
people seemed more relaxed.

I agree the fallout started after 1975 and got worse in the 80s. That is the year I left as I could see holes in there teachings and I did not care anymore so got df'd in 1980 and have been thankful ever since. I know a number of young people that left in the 80s and 90s and now there are only a few left in this area.

Did You Overly Discipline Your Kids Because Of Being A Witness?
by minimus ini knew a lot of jws that "beat" their child with the "rod" as a preferred "scriptural" form of punishment.
corporal punishment was the norm while growing up......were you given the "rod" often?
did you overly discipline your children??

Yes, I know I did and am ashamed of it to this day. I am a lot more tolerant to our grandchildren.
Our one daughter always says "wow" things have sure changed since I was a kid!

I would make sure his wife knows about you and your future baby. Then she might cause him make a decision. He does not deserve the best of two worlds.
