I Am Sick Of Going To Kid's B-Days !!
by Jeannine inthe thread started on "an invitation to a wedding" with all its talk on manners got me thinking...... is there any other childless person out there that is tired of being invited to the birthday parties of friend's children?
i am childless by choice.
i have a large family with many kids, visiting me, making a huge mess of my house, bugging me for money to go to the store, waiting for me to drop off their gifts every year, playing pranks on me (i'll get those little suckers back), walking around with my shoes on, peeing in my bed, etc.

Dubs Pimp Katrina
by Valis inwell they certainly didn't waste any time using this disaster to their own twisted advantage...they stuck this on their home page with a quickness.

in god's new world, people will not have to fear having their home or crops wiped out by freakish storms.

I think it's finally sunk in...
by sonnyboy ini want to officially retract the opening statment of my "does anyone else not care about katrina?
" thread.. i've been watching coverage like a hawk all day, and it cannot be compared to the homeless problem in our country.
i still stand by what i said, which is that we should always support and feel compassion for those who are less fortunate, even when cnn is not involved, but this is definitely different.

by Jeannine inmy husband spoke to my mother-in-law (a die-hard jw) after the horrors of katrina started to unfold.
her only comment was, "this is nothing compared to what armaggedon is going to be like.
wait, you'll see".

JWs and Lawsuits
by Jeannine inanother jw thing that boggles my mind...... my mother-in-law, a super-jw, was crossing the street when she was hit by a car.
she was fortunate enough to sustain very minor injury (bruises and maybe a minor sprain or two).
i would describe the accident as very minor.

National Effort to Help Other JW's in Katrina Effected Areas
by Kenneson in"the jehovah's witnesses 90 regional building committess across the nation are taking the lead in organizing the relief and rebuilding effort in new orleans and along the gulf coast..." .
"the fact that officials at jehovah's witnesses international headquarters in brooklyn, n.y. are calling on all 90 regional committees to pitch in is an indication of just how major a rebuilding effort it will be," garcia said.
the article mentions 22 kingdom halls damaged by flood waters and 8 completely destroyed in the new orleans area alone.
