That wonderful scriptures at isa. 41:10 do not gaze about for I am your god, I will fortify you. I will really help you. Never allow an un expected incident, including job loss, to paralyze you. Do everything you can, and then leave the rest in Jehovah’s hands.

  I have heard that redundant nonsense since I was a child. Does a light switch ever go off when they keep repeating this over and over and over again? It's nonsense and complete and total garbage.

  Do you think the Society has spies on sites like this?

  not that any of them would post, but do you think that they have people who they secretly have visit anti-jw sites and forums like this just for the purpose of seeing what people are saying about them and what their current members might stumble upon?.

  if you google jws, the first couple are official, the next two are wikis, then you have an anti-jw site and then there's this one.

  any current or potential member that is looking for more information than is published by the wbts will be directed to these sites.

  At the local level, there have been several instances where elders paid a "shepherding call" to a suspect and without permission marched right over to the computer and opened up the browser's history list. Even though the elders were told they had no right to do so, they elders kept on snooping.

  Are you serious about that? That's grounds for a serious ass kicking. I can't imagine that a grown adult would let another grown adult walk over to their computer and do this without breaking a few of their fingers in the process. Interesting. I would like a first person account of this, honestly.

  my parents (jw's) have 4 small grandchildren between the ages of 5 and 8. they recently went on a trip and brought back presents for 3 of the kids but left out one because they "didn't have time to find anything".

  my sister was very upset and refused to accept the present for her daughter if they had nothing for her son.

  my parents thought she was making a big deal out of nothing and since gifts are voluntary, technically, they don't have to buy them for any of the kids and can do so as they choose.

  I talk to most of my family, as if the DFd is a thing of the very distant past. Once and a great while something comes up, but we love each other very much and talk and interact like family. I have one aunt and one cousin that won't talk to me, besides a hello, but that was pretty much how we were when I was "in".

  Friends? I have been out for over 18 years, the friends I had then have moved on. Occasionally, when I am back home I may run into someone I grew up with and I have to tell you, we smile, giggle, hug and say something like "it's good to see you" and move on. If they want to speak further, I do, if not, I move on without a care in the world.

  I think you are doing a great thing, showing how they are connected. I too believe that a lot of these "religions" are arms of the same tree. I haven't done a lot of research on it, but I believe the founders and those at the very top are very connected - again, nothing I can prove because I haven't spent that much time reading on it. I look forward to reading your research.
