If you don't show up they df you anyway. My car broke down on the way to one of many JC meetings. I called and told them that. They didn't waste any time driving to my house to tell me they had decided to df me. I was so pissed off at my car and them, by that time I didn't care!

In what condition are your roads where you live?

here in quebec, the roads are horrible.

not only in my town, but the whole province, the road infrastructure is falling apart.. just to give an example... on the street where i live, the road wasn't paved in 40 years.

much of the city is like that, and all you see is pot holes, patches, and huge cracks everywhere.. you'd believe that they don't want to pave just before armageddon....would be a waste of money

Here in Missouri I think they use the portion of the tax money marked for roads, to go out and get drunk. Either that, or no one is paying taxes!

Cleaning the Kingdom Hall

what part of the hall was your favorite part to clean?

was it the bathrooms, the main hall, library or lunch room perhaps...did people use cleaning the hall as an excuse to get self-righteous?

My JW mom taped the CO's Thursday night talk a couple weeks ago. I could only stomach a few minutes of it. He was saying that there was something for everyone to do cleaning the hall. If you were unable to do much, just "move the vacuum to a different plug while someone else is vacuumming, that way it saves time....". It was SSOOOOO stupid. Sounded like he was talking to a bunch of 4 yr. olds.

MEMORIAL blood drive

hello everyone, i am new to this forum, a 38 year old x jw, raised in and i and left it as a teen.

i want to start a new way to celebrate the 'memorial'- by donating blood.

this year the jws will celebrate the memorial on april 12, and i paln to mark the day by donating a pint of whole blood to my local blood bank.

in the middle of the MO wild weather!!

how did everyone in missouri weather all the storms and tornados???

i just need to vent...... i know that here in the middle of the state (columbia), it was like playing hide and seek.

we had to run for cover 4 times in 6 hours.

I know that here in the middle of the state (columbia), it was like playing hide and seek. We had to run for cover 4 times in 6 hours. Then got evacuated for a busted gas line. My sister had alot of hail damage to her car. But then all over missouri is alot of damage and destruction.

I grew up 25 miles north of here. My daughter just called me. Two very good people I knew were trapped in their double-wide and killed. They had adopted their grandkids a couple years ago. The kids havn't been located yet. Everyone is praying they were visiting their mom. But she can't be reached yet since phones are down and alot of rural roads have trees and powerlines down. They were the in-laws of my exbrother-in-law.

A school bus turned over 10 miles north of here. (1/2 mile from my daughter) Thank god no one was hurt.

Reminder of how fast life can be taken! Please say a prayer for the kids!

Outdoor Spirituality.

i often find myself engaged in outdoors activities.

once while fly-fishing on a sunday, i realized a deep spiritual feeling.

standing in a trout stream, watching an otter swim by, and listening to the gurgle of moving water, i felt closer to god than i ever had in a kingdom hall.. has anyone else ever felt this?

Have to agree with Gretchen and MerryM--

is all part of how I practice my spirituality. Never felt more inner peace anywhere else.

P.S. There was a couple Texas Jams that were always outdoor, and very MOVING, if ya know what I mean!! LOL
