You know she counted her time, sigh.... but on a bright note at least she was thinking of you, I guess that's something.
"of all the religions claiming to be christian it's the most far removed from Christianity i've ever seen."-- I liked that part!
my sister called me quite out of the blue last night.
she's a full on active jw and actively shunning me like the rest of the family are.
i dont quite know the reason why she felt last night was the right time to call but im glad she did.

He's still on the loose?!!
nathan, outlaw.....all of you hilarious people...this means you!
i believe in humor as an effective way to bring attention to an important topic.
humor has made many people aware of the true nuttiness of the jw cult in the past (sign language masturbation video—went viral).. amazon allows humorous reviews and even showcases them.
Can't wait to read more reviews!
i'm not sure where it is airing elsewhere, but on the a&e channel, at 7p then again at 10p est tonight, leah remini is doing a scientology special.
it looks to be a great show.
i am not sure if it is one time, or the beginnings of a series.
I have not seen yet but hope to. Maybe we should ask her to do an expose on jw's when this show is done?
http://jwabuse.com/.
we have been building links, and received some great ones from other folks here on this forum, if anyone has anymore they think should be added, please post them here and we will get them up on the site..
Take a look!
for those who became jws, were you fully aware of the societys cruel shunning policy whilst studying?
i absolutely had no idea such a policy existed until years later.
it really only hit home when reading the horrendous stories on the internet around 2002. .
My jw was not aware and did not believe it when he joined up. He insisted it must be a very rare thing meant only for the worse 'sinners'. Now? his mind is so utterly taken over by the borg he uses the company line of 'they made the choice themselves', they choose to be shunned, etc....
makes me sick.
there are many on this site that do not believe that jehovah truly exists; that he is not a real being.
but, he is as real as next breath you draw into your nostrils.. some of you say that there is no evidence that he exists.
yet, none of you can prove that he does not exits.. cofty, (you come to mind), i appreciate that you have stated, without reservation, that you do not believe that god exists.. yet, you cannot prove it.. hope in jehovah..
counting time?
i was kind of proud to go out in field service, most of the time.
important message, straight from god to their doors, right?.
but if you met with the group and didn't have previous arrangements, you could end up with the village idiot for a companion.
You should ask non jw's their experience with jw's at the door but don't tell them you were a jw and you will get many amusing stories. If they know you were a jw will they will try to be respectful of your previous annoying habit and not tell you some stories. Once they get started!.... everyone has a story, "I had a jw at my door once and you wouldn't believe it!....." " I had a jehovah come to my door and....."
during the book study which is basically a book all about the history of "gods organization" ©.
a paragraph that hit me like a ton of the proverbial bricks was this.... 9 first, jehovah’s servants came to have the proper view of the importance of god’s name.
faithful early bible students viewed the ransom arrangement as the bible’s main teaching.
Why do they need Jesus at all if they believe their own death absolves them from sin?
lasting memory of the latter period of time in the organisation:.
i had a route call with the magazines whom i'd called on for a number of years.
eventually when i become a parent i became consumed with negativity, doubt (blood issue) & depression.
I agree with that lady wholeheartedly! Glad you were able to leave.
I can see in my own jw when the rags or meetings are more doom & gloom than usual just by his behavior and outlook on life. I can also tell when he has been with someone different in the car group (?) or however that works. His personality changes with the mags & who has been spending time with. Guess it is true for all of us to some degree but non jw's can be nuts all by themselves without the aid of cultish doctrines, rules & regulations and looking forward to bad news and horrific world events.
