Are there any Americans who moved to Australia here?
by Lady Zombie inor does anyone know someone who has moved from america to australia that i could get in touch with?.
i'm wondering how difficult a move would be, how much $$ it takes, etc.. i know the australian government won't consider granting immigration unless the candidate has job skills and/or education.
this is not a problem.

Have u found friendships w/ worldy people be hard?
by blkblk13 inso, i'm embarking on slow fade and i think it's time for me to start making friends w/ some non-jdubs so that i'll have a support network once i decide to be completely out and everyone ive ever known abandons me.
ive always gotten along much better w/ wordly people than jdubs so i'll haveno problem securing friends but im concerned about being to keep them.. i want out of the org for various reasons but i must admit i still believe many of the teachings.
i just think the leadership and organization itself is corrupt.

Is being searched by your employer EVERY day legal?
by Gill ini am in the middle of induction training for a new job at a local store that is one of the uk's largest hardware stores.. today we were told it was company policy that every staff member is searched everyday before they leave the shop.
you cannot, under any circumstances leave the store until you have been searched both your bag and person and sometimes you car also searched.. your handbag has to be emptied and searched, your pockets have to be emptied and you have to take off whatever clothes you are told to take off including shoes, roll up your shirt above waist level if you are a woman and loosen the waist band of your trousers.. if i am right, even the police are not permitted to search anyone without due cause and i already feel 'violated' at the thought that i will have to go through this humiliation everyday.
this shop basically sells toiletries, garden stuff etc and insist that half of their theft if from staff.. however, we were also told that shoplifters cannot be stopped unless they have been followed all round the store and their is 100% knowledge that they have stolen something as a stop and search would get the store into terrible trouble.. so, am i correct in thinking that these people are going to violate my human rights every day!.

Hello everyone! New here. Born into it....ugh.
by Lady Zombie inwhere to start?.
i thought about typing out a nutshelled life history but changed my mind.
suffice it to say, i was born into "the truth," attempted suicide at 14, "lost my faith" at this time, beat into submission into carrying on as usual, endured a horrible marriage and equally horrible divorce, and am more or less still in it (appearances only!

Hotel rooms and the Org.
by noontide inthe tread regarding the special announcement http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/150436/1.ashx got me thinking about some of the misconceptions regarding hotel room reservations for the assembly.
i have been working in the hospitality (hotel) industry for over 6 years now and was a sales manager (sold rooms to large conventions) for about 2 years when i first began my career.
now, i write the following with experience in a rather large corporation and with one of the better-named brand hotels; whether this applies to the smaller sized hotels or motels, i do not know.
