What about any seniors/retirees? Or if it just a few hours, what about moms duing the day before tha afternoon, while the kids are in school?

sorry everyone but i need to rant.
about a week and a half ago we hired someone to work at my office.
up to that point only my boss and i worked here, however we realized that there was a lot of work that had to be done and we needed help.

after 40 years of serving as a regular pioneer and being on the infirm list, the circuit overseer, the po and another elder told her today in a 30 min.
conversation she was going to be announced as no longer pioneering.
the co mostly talked about me, my wife and daughter.
I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but it sems to me that the whole thing was a carefully worded reproof for attending the wedding and association, simply replacing 2 elders with an elder and CO.
Anyone know when the 2006 memorial is?
sorry to pose this question if it is here on the board somewhere.
i have been sifting for hours and even though i've found lots of great information, i can't find what i am looking for.. motivated by the hurricane tragedies, i decided to become a red cross volunteer on a local level.
i had my first training on saturday and came away feeling very good about my decision.
I taught First Aid and swimming lessons through the Red Cross. CPR was also at one time handled through the Red Cross.
If that were the case regarding blood, there would be no JW nurses or doctors or any other ones working in the medical field..
okay, here's the update.
i sent an email to my former bible study after a phone conversation we had where i told her i'd disassociated myself.
in the email, i included information about the shunning practice (which she had no idea about).
I wouldn't rule out that they could have local Witnesses there too.
Just a thought.
hey my dad is going to trade my gmc 2004 single cab black truck for a new ford mustang but i dont really want that because it will be expensive.
if i had it my way i wouldve bought the 1991 honda crx this chick at work was selling for 800 bucks.
so instead of the mustang i want to trade in for a new or used honda civic.
I'd go with whatevery you can afford. Will he be making all the payments or will you? Will you take it to college with you?
my younger sister is coming out for a visit tomorrow.
we keep it a secret from the rest of the family because i am disfellowshipped and she's not supposed to be hanging with me.
we are just recently becoming closer as she is beginning to have her doubts about the borg, and is currently on "public reproof" status.
That's great that she is coming to visit. If it were me, I'd answer her questions, if she brings any up and then encourage her to do researh. I am sure she will have a lot of questions. As far as the drinking and cursing go, I'd keep the drinkng in moderation and take the high road when it comes to speech.
Good big brothers are hard to come by. Have a great time!
don't wait.
update your advance medical directives before you find yourself in my situation.... .
my left arm was feeling 'odd' last friday morning as i was getting dressed for work.
Good to hear you are on the mend. I will be changing my directives. I really like my primary care physician but one of his staff is a very active JW. I know whatever he writes in his nots makes for good dininer time chat.
After reading your post I got ready to log off due to the off topic comments on something of such a serious nature. It doesn't do much for credibility.
Take Care
a good friend of mine has a coworker who is a witness.
they have a good working relationship and are somewhat of friends, at least in that arena.
today at work this woman told my friend that she had something important to discuss, that could not be talked about at work.
It may not be religion related at all...it could be work related, the reason not to discuss it on the work site. I mean, I don't discuss work problems at work, we talk about that kind of issues off site. It could be anything or she could ask for advise on another topic.
Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I'd be upfront with her about religion. I have people at work the same way who are very relgious. I tell them up fron I don't discuss religion..(had years of that) I change the subject. If they bring it up again, I state it again. I don't lose the control.
She is probably a very nice person. I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and make sure she knows the peramiters up front. If they go out to lunch, I'd also take two cars...in the event I (gasp) could be wrong. Then she is not dependent on her and can leave when she pleases. If she offeres literature she should turn them down, not accept them. If she suggests just take them, she should hold her ground and say no thank you, reiterating she is not interested in her relgion.
Independent and in control

If they are friends, she should just say, "As long as it isn't about converting to your religion. I am happy with my own." No beating around the bush, it's out there plain and simple. No hidden agendas and no control issues.
