Am I reading this right Gary???? Makes me want to cry !!
a couple of days ago i ran into a jw at my job at walmart.
she is a single lady around 50 years old and she looked terrible.
i asked how she was,(she always talks to me) and she related how she had lost her job and had to work two low paying jobs.

i was molested by a brother in my congregation when i was nine years old.
when i told my mother she went directly to a family friend and respected elder to seek advise.
a couple days later, he and another elder made a visit to our home and questioned me for hours.
Welcome spopeislandstyle
Am really sorry to hear about your story - I do think this is more common than we realise, good for you for speaking up about what happened to you!!
You say your brother has served time yet is still ''entertaining'' children at his home? Are the Congergation aware of his conviction........Especially the mothers of those children? I would want to know if my child was in the company of a convicted paedophile. How do you feel about this?
when i was studying and in the org i never did put two and two together becuase first off it was peer pressure and a young baptism age.
i was indoctrinated as a child so i never got a chance to ever use sound reason and judgement toword the validity of the society's claims.
but anywho i was thinking the other day about certain things that are obvious red flags and far fetched claims that the org makes.
First off doesnt it seem a bit wierd that most of the anointed in the bible according to the watchtower live in the us and near pensylvania
I have posted my question on a few threads - I wonder what proportion of 144,000 are representative of their Earthly equivalent - Is every Nation on Earth to be ruled by 143,990 white Americans?
I don't think there's a question of Jehovah changing - His Plan has always been HIS PLAN - all the ''changing'' is in the minds of the WTBTS.
.
in five words or less, please give examples of statements no jehovah's witness in good standing could ever say.
here are two examples:.
''I never think about marriage'' (30 year old pioneer sister)
''Stick or twist?''
what makes a person leave their religion and join the witnesses?
what makes a doubter or better yet a jw that knows this isn't really the truth, remain a witness?
i believe most stay on because being a witness is like being a member of a club.
Thanks for the BITE information Blondie - it look scaringly familiar!
Once you realize it just isn't tru or "the truth", it's easier to leave.
I'm not sure about this one, eg.
.....what if you went to prison in 1940, and suddenly got released in 2005 at the age of 85? The World would look very scary, so much change, you're old, you know no one, in fact EVERYTHING you know is in a 6 x 6 cell - that's your security and familiarity. How could you start to build an alternative life at 85? Making new friends as your old ones are still in their 6 x 6?.........
upon arriving i ran into lots of old friends and really enjoyed seeing everyone and visiting.
they dont know that im currently struggling with doubts about the organization and they think that im the same old zealous brother.
i couldnt help but feel a sence of guilt visiting with them about our current number of publishers and how many we had pioneering ect.
In fact, kingdavid, this is relatively old thread - you must have spent ages before finding it - I can't imagine you were actually LOOKING for it - how does your conscience feel spending hours trawling through apostate views?
People motivated by hatred. People using foul language because they lack arguments for their viewpoint.
I'm speechless - help me out someone -lol

Welcome kingdavid - I would like to know what attracted you to look at this website. You appear to have found a thread with which you don't agree, and that's fine, maybe you can put your perspective on this experience. I don't imagine you came straight to this post to respond (from the hundreds on here) - so from others you have read, you appear to have no comment?
I am truly amazed how gullible all of you are.
Lol - ditto

he's the one who couldn't keep his pants zipped (except when it came to diana).
so why all this vitriol against camilla?
Head of the Church of England - I believe founded by Henry VIII - C of E is the major religion here which the majority of infants are Christened (Baptised) into - I was Christened at 4 weeks old.

I think he would make a very good Monarch - but I wonder if he will ever get the chance. Our present Queen, I don't believe, will ever abdicate - and if her mother's longevity is anything to go by, she may outlive Charles.
In the light of Charles marrying Camilla, I think the some people will have issues as to whether he can reign, as Edward VIII had to abdicate the throne to marry a divorced woman.
Charles has already stated that he will be King George VII when/if he becomes King.
i called my parents last night.
" again, dad says, "huh, what are you talking about?
i know dad...but it's true.
Very Refreshing News AloneInOh - I am very happy for you
