his whole family are jw's his uncle an elder, his sisters pioneers, etc; any advice i could give him?
i know what it is like since my mom has been a devout jw's since 1967.

MICHIGAN PEOPLE!!!...Multi-millionaire witness Pat Patterson.....
by integ inanyone heard of this guy?.
he built up an insurance agency in michigan, and sold it for over 10 million dollars.. apparently, at his big office in novi, michigan, he only hires witnesses and they are all making big bucks.. i know an agent who was going to work for him in another state (they do business in 10 states i think), but declined to sign up when he found out the organization was owned and operated by witnesses.. he said: "that explains the ridiculously low commissions they pay their agents".
they sell alot of life insurance.. why would this witness owned agency push life insurance if the end is so near???.

Are there any witnesses from Novi, MI who can tell us more? Inquiring minds want to know.
I wish there had been a millionaire in some of my old congregatons.

I'm Attending the Memorial
by RichieRich inmy lovely girlfriend and i sat down over a homecooked meal, and discussed the pros and cons of attending the memorial.. i decided, with her support, that we would attend.. i spent years of my life pretending to be a witness to please my mother.
when i left the witnesses, my mother said some hurtful things.. and those things really hurt me... for a while.
but i established myself as my own person, developed my own relationships, and have gotten a good start on my own life.. i don't know that i want to hurt my mother back, but i do want to make it abundantly clear to her, my grandmother, and all the members of my former congregation, that richierich is alive and kicking.. and i think that walking into the kingdom hall, dressed respectfully in a suit, yet with full piercing jewelry intact, and with erika wearing something classy that steals the brother's eyes, and draws glares from the humble sisters, will be just the thing to send that message to my mother.. i don't plan on partaking or making a disturbance.

Richie,
I admire your strength. You have done well. Perhaps going will give some young ones hope that they can break free and live the life they deserve and perhaps desire.
Good luck man.

They question/analyze everything- except the Watchtower
by OnTheWayOut inmany of you were probably the type to question everything or analyze everything, yet .
just accept whatever the wts says.
you broke out of that.

What a good thread.
My wife and I have an unspoken agreement. She doesn't get upset and irritated with me for not attending the meetings (at least in front of me) and I don't try to bug her with anti-WT information.
In fact, my wife doesn't really know why I am not an active witness anymore. We have no open communication on the subject of the WT. She does not want to know what I've found or what I think on the subject.
My children on the other hand have seen the hypocrisy of those who are witnesses.
I strive to be a great father and a loving husband. My wife's activity level has dropped but she still believes it all.
I just keep living my life in such a way that I can be proud and hope and pray that one day she'll see the light herself.

Tennessee JW claims 9 baptized at assembly, 1960 attended.
by gaiagirl ini just received a report from an active jw who went to a circuit assembly in eastern tennessee, stating that attendance was 1960 for the sunday address.
he also stated that 9 were baptized, giving a "growth rate" of 0.46% (if one assumes that all 9 were bible studies, and not merely children of jw parents).
sounds as if "the love of the greater number is cooling off" in tennessee : ) well, i'm sure that's what jw's would say, anyway.

Junction-Guy, you have a study? ROFLMAO!! That is great! How do you hide your feelings while they're there. What is the status of your study? Are you progressing spiritually?

I think you've done a fantastic job.
Keep up the good work.
You fulfill an important part of his life right now - unconditional listening. Plus you have the right life experience to give suggestions.
I really wonder what the wife thought about Crisis of Conscience. The information she read will stick with her for a long long time and hopefully the seed will germinate.
