Interesting letter,I'll say like you,it's a control thing and they really get off on it.I'm happy to hear you risen above that hogwash and that you're happy now.

i filed away the letter that i received from an elder when my mom was disfellowshipped years ago.
it turned up the other day, reminding me again of the high control, fear based beliefs the dubs have.
i resisted shunning my mom -- and sadly this letter is the reason i finally began shunning her.

NO!
it's been ages since i have posted anything on the forum.
i guess life outside the borg is busy and rewarding!.
to get straight to the point, my daughter rang me today to tell me her boyfriend's step dad (an inactive dub for many years........1st time i'ld heard) was studying again and was moving toward going back to the borg.
Sounds like you have a lot of info to work with,I truly hope you succeed.I wish someone had done something like this for me 10 years ago when I foolishly returned to the "truth".I now rank that as the most stupid thing I ever did.Part of the problem was that I wasn't educated enough on the WTS' history and the lies that they promote as truth.
Anyways, good luck and please keep us posted.

the following link is very interesting.
it is from the web site of northwestern mutual financial.
they are part of northwestern mutual life insurance.
84,well I was hoping to make it to 100.
I wonder if the WTS will still be around when I'm 84.
i have just received a book titled "captives of a concept" understanding the illusionary concept that hold jehovah's witnesses captive by don cameron.
( former memeber of the body of elders of jw).
i am sorry if this has been mentioned before but you know me!!!!
I'd love to get the book Captives of a Concept, but I'd have to do it in a way that my wife doesn't find out, which is very difficult. It seems like a very interesting book and I look forward to reading it someday.

5.Oh no,here we go again
Ok,so this good-lookin' guy in his late 20's is still single, working full-time making well over $100 000 CDN/YR,yet he's unhappy because he's not pionneering!!!!!!!!!! So he quits the high-paying job that didn't bring him happiness, while his boss begs him to stay, even offering more money, but NO,the humble servant of Jehovah wants to move way up north to the tundra of northern onatrio to serve where the need is greater.
I've met a few of these people over the years.Sooner or later they all go back where they came from. But I guess if the WTS can fool a few into believing they should be pioneers they've accomplished what they set out to do.

...i thought i'd share this joke.
it was getting a little crowded in heaven, so god decided to change the admittance policy.
the new law was that in order to get into heaven, you had to have a really bummer day on the day that you died.
Hahahhaaa! Hey good one,I gotta try to remember that one.
a good friend who is a police officer told me last night that he believes a lot of the jw's he has met through the years in his line of work are extremely self-righteous.
i didn't have much of a reply but it did get me thinking about what he said.
so, what do you guys think?
I believe most of them are and very few are truly humble people.Almost everybody has a story or two(ok,many stories) about some self-righteous jw.The sad part is they don't even realize they are, just living in their bubble of righteousness.

i usually don't read wt or awakes, but i stumbled on an article that shows the borg's two-facedness.. the article talks about a group of mennonites that had doubts about their religion and wanted to study with the jws.
after the first paragraph, i realized that i had felt exactly like those poor mennonites when i decided to study the jw's history.
let me explain... i have scanned some parts of the articles: .
I glanced at that article as well and I also was struck with the similarities to the jw's...hypocrites!
i am old enough to remember the days when conventions lasted many long days and large.
numbers of brothers were employed in preparing hot meals served on trays, army-style.
also recall how good these steam cooked meals tasted - and how policemen, assigned to.
Great write-up Met!
I always enjoy reading your material.I'm anxious to see the downfall of the WTS.
btw,I noticed you didn't predict a date for the end of the WTS.-LOL
