Can't nail me for being a kingdom hall spy,I don't go to enough meetings.But I'm always up to date with all the "new light".I learned hypocrisy 101 by attending meetings and trying to be an approved JW.
BTW,I wonder if the Williams sisters will be attending a meeting in their reality show?Will they even bring up religion?Say anything about being jw's?
i already heard one argument on this, that the scripture referred to (proverbs 4:18) in context was actually advice of a father to his son on how during his life he would continue to grow spiritually throughout his life.
but a closer look shows that there is no mention at all of new light, in any context.
it says "but the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly estblished" [analogy: from darkness of the night gradually to the full light of the day?].

If there is such a thing as "new light" it goes this way:new light must build upon itself and be progressive.I learned this in Crisis of Conscience.When the WTS tears down one of their beliefs to replace with something else,this is not new light.They are not building upon an established truth when they completely change their stand on something,therefore it is not progressive.
Also,why is if you no longer agree with a WTS teaching,you are weak.If you speak about it you could be labeled an apostate and DF'd.BUT when the WTS changes their mind on something and change the teaching,it's called "new light".

Yes your girlfriend is confused.She's torn between you and what she knows will happen if she chooses you over the religion.Just keep letting her know you care about her and do all you can to convince her that jehovaf's witnesses don't have the "truth".

I was a one-comment-per-meeting-in -my-own-words kinda guy.The PO would stand at the back of the hall to monitor which hands were going up.Then in '98,with the famous letter the PO wrote to all the brothers here,that was the end of my spiritual progress.Never commented since....slowly downhill....oh well....now I know better.
like many of you, i like reading threads i don?t necessarily take part in, and clicking on the profile and reading the biography.
several, maybe most, have nothing listed in their biography, for whatever reason.

for a while now i don't really hear from my witness friend and not that it bothers me much anymore, but i call her like once a month or so and she usually stays on the phone long enough to tell me how much she "misses me," for like 5 minutes (as opposed to the hours that she used to call me to talk for every night.
) then she says "well i will call you later, ok?
Typical JW mentality.It's to shame back into submission.
It's also a conditional friendship you have there.Go back to the meetings 100% and she'll be your best friend.

Very intersting stories.I have to agree that they are united worldwide.In our hall they used to get off putting people down,especially the "weak" ones.One elder stood on the platform and said if we go to the meetings and don't comment,we're just keeping a seat warm,we might as well stay home.So I did.When the CO came to encourage us I told him about this.He was all stunned and I've never heard crap like that the few times I've been since.

that always made me laugh.

when i see how many hits various topics receive compared to the number of posts, it?s obvious to me how many benefit from this forum.
i know most of us skip around from topic to topic before posting, but i think there is a large number of lurkers that read but are not registered members.
sometimes it?s easy for me to forget about, dare i say, the great crowd.
