I agree with "All Time..." Get her to read "Crisis of Conscience". She will be free of guilt after that.
However, I don't know how she would be able to stay in a "Witness House" after reading it. That might be a problem.

sounds like a constipation medication doesnt it?.
in all seriousness, though...i'm helping a young gal who just told the elders taht she doesn't want to be involved anymore, has lots of doubts, and isn't sure what she believes at all.
we've been very close for several years and i have made it clear that she will have my support (and a few others who have left also made this point) and that she will not have to go crawling back jsut because nobody will help her.

whilst i was out enjoying myself , looking at very expensive cars, in london, this afternoon.
my wife went to the library and got a out a some books including, combatting cult mind control by steven hassan (hooray!!!
), the definitive bible commentary by owen collins and another book called before the flood by ian wilson which she currently reading upstairs in bed.
If possible, get her to read "Crisis of Conscience", Ray Franz first book. That should put the final nail in the coffin.

MOSHE IS BACK ! Looks like he found some "new meat".
I love reading about your JW experiences. Looks like you are going to be busy for a while, talking to neighbors about the jw's.
I hope you don't mind if I memorize your "discussion" with them.
Please keep us updated. It helps to give us courage and determination, like you have.

Leavingwt, did you read Pattons book? (War as I knew it).
The guy was a genius, even though he acted strange. He knew his stuff.

hi everyone...i have a confession to make, i actually joined 5mths ago, but never came back to the site.
ive had doubt for a few years now.. my parents came into the truth when i was a toddler.
no other family members are witnesses.
Read "Crisis of Conscience" by Ray Franz, former governing body member. Your doubts about the "truth" will be confirmed, and your guilt will go away for good.

Not everyone that's "normal" swears. So, you don't have to swear to be normal. Welcome to the board.

beautiful isn't it?
many feel the vortex's here, are some of the best in the world.
It only cost 50 bucks to blast off, but it's coming back down alive and in one piece that's expensive.

That definitely had an effect, but no one factor made them lose the war. It was a combination of events and decisions that did it.
And don't forget, we almost lost it. If the Germans would have gotten the a-bomb before us, we'd all be speaking German now, or be dead.
The "experts" also say that if the U.S. waited another six months before entering the war, we could have lost it.
I'm not saying the Americans were better than the English or Aussies, ect., I'm saying that the U.S. was the biggest supplier of arms to the war effort....The "arsenal of democracy".

minimus had a great thread recently asking if any who were witnesses felt guilt as a jehovah's witness.
thought i would build on that a little dealing with how you have moved on after being a jehovah's witness ?.
one definition of guilt in the american heritage dictionary is : " self-reproach for supposed inadequacy or wrongdoing ".
If you want to lose the guilt and fear, read "Crisis of Conscience", by Ray Franz. All your guilt will disappear, I guarantee it.

in a local convenience store, the owners have installed an id checker for anyone purchasing alcohol.
they require you to put your id in this machine to determine whether or not you are of legal age.
even if you are 85 years of age, you have to comply or you can't buy a beer!.
Minimus said.....
"a driver's license" is needed to buy liquor.
There are a lot of seniors out there that don't drive any more, so won't have a drivers license to show. So, even if they walk to the liquor store they won't be able to buy beer?
Ridiculous.

i don't remember where i saw this.
i don't remember the whole quote, but here's what stuck out to me.. ".......and really, would you want to belong to an organization that....." (.
(they are talking about child abuse in the catholic religion, and how you really wouldn't want to belong to an organization that protects pedofile preists).. thanks.. hubert.
I found the quote I was looking for.
To my surprise (and memory loss) it isn't about child abuse in the Catholic religion. It's about being in a religion that teaches lies......(All except the Watchtower Society, of course.
Here it is.
It is obvious that the true God, who is himself 'the God of truth' and who hates lies, will not look with favor on persons who cling to organizations that teach falsehood. (Psalm 31:5; Proverbs 6:16-19; Revelation 21:8) And, really, would you want to be even associated with a religion that had not been honest with you? –Is This Life All There Is?, 1974, page 46.
So, I was sorta "barking up the wrong tree". I tend to do that at times. However, it's still a good quote to have on hand.
