when we leave the wbt$ religious cult "jehovah`s witness`s"..the wbt$ encourages our familys to have little,or nothing to do with us..........our own jehovah`s witness parents will do exactly as the wbt$ commands..mine did.......my jehovah`s witness parents told other jehovah`s witness`s,"i hated all jehovah`s witness`s"..not true..i just did`nt like the religion..i had no problem with most individual jw`s.............................how did your jehovah`s witness family treat you,when you no longer wanted to participate as a jehovah`s witness?...........................................................................outlaw.
The only so-called JW family I have are two brothers-in-law (my late wife's brothers). Since I left they no longer have any contact with me. The only way I know anything about their families is through my daughter (also an exJW) who is still loved and treated royally by her "JW for the sake of family" cousins.

No Mr. Doe, it isn't tacky to attack someone's spelling. Especially when they think they are knowledgeable enough to have a web page or to act superior over others.
Spelling is a basic that should be learned in grade school. Just goes to show how bad the educational system is these days. Or could it be that JW's (and others) never applied themselves in school thinking they would never have to work at a full-time job or a career!

i snort in contempt when i see a new thread started and the poster hasn't even bothered getting the spelling correct in the title, or starts the thread off with a post full of typos and crap grammar.
i've found that the more stupid mistakes there are in the title of a thread and in the poster's initial post, the less interesting and worthy of reading is the thread.

And some of the offenders have had positions of MS and Elder. I guess the magic number is more important than intelligence to lord it over the writhing low class.

i know everyone here has different feelings about "religion/god, etc.

my mom is a devout jw.. the other day for a reason that came up unrelated to religion/god, a groomer who works for me was asking me about the church woman's bible study i'm involved with while we were working.

to this day, in all countries, any persons among jehovah's witnesses who find they cannot conscientiously support fully the organization's teachings or practices live in a climate of fear, feeling they must constantly be on guard as to what they say, what they do, what they read, with whom they associate, from whom they receive letters, not feeling any sense of freedom even when among personal friends or close relatives if these are also witnesses.
as stated, in my personal experience i have had people phone who were afraid to give their name or who felt it necessary to use a fictitious name, some who even felt it necessary to take out a special post office box to be able to correspond without danger of their correspondence with me or other former witnesses being discovered.
they face a form of "hostage" situation, produced by the organization's authority.
When I first read COC in either 1998 or 1999 it created my own COC. It took me a few more years to break completely away. Ray really knew what he was talking about because thousands who are still captive have that fear.

to the student of ignorance and fear mongering : regarding your proclamation of the end times.. the point is the select signs of the times of the gt as written in the bible could be placed well in any moment of human history.
for last 2000 years and even be placed with greater accuracy in the middle ages, so when someone reads information from apocalyptic religious.
cults like the jws who are trying to superimpose fear into people so they will react in the way they want them to react, hence it pays to analise.

i came on jwd a year ago tomorrow, having realized that jws were not the truth, quite painfully, on march 29, 2008. i was here within a week, and within 2 months i was officially dad by my congregation.. ever since joining, i have never actually wrote down a comprehensive look at why i left the organization.
what doubts caused me to leave?
why did a gilead grad leave what i once considered so precious?.

Thank you for your story. It takes me back to where my mind was when I really wanted to believe that it was the "truth" but the doubts kept piling up.
Like you, I had a lot of "what if they are wrong" thoughts for years. That, and the yes men and power seeking men I served with as an elder made me resign as an elder in 1991. It took another decade for me to thoroughly be convinced that I could not be a JW anymore.
Now we are free and all we can do is be here for those still floundering in the sea of mistruths. Hopefully, they can one day be totally free also. My heart goes out to all who have to compromise because of family that are blindly believing.

Yesterday, I got two memorial invitations in the mail. It was sent to my old address (I moved in December) and forwarded by the post office. One had my daughters name on it and she hasn't lived in this state for 8 years. At least they are not up to date with our whereabouts. lol

i don't know the talk # but the most boring talk title ever had to be "who are qualified as ministers of god?".
next came "parents - are you building with fire-resistant materials".
When I was giving public talks, the one I gave the most at my cong. and the one most requested when I visited other congs. was "A CLEAN PEOPLE HONORS JEHOVAH"
The outline talked about being clean morally and spiritually, but a good part of it dwelt with personal hygene and having all your belongings looking clean.
One of the areas I always brought up was brothers on the platform wearing a nice suit but having shoes that looked like they just walked through a pasture. Damn.....if your going to wear a nice suit, then at least polish your shoes even if you did just walk through a pasture.
Most JW men don't have a clue when it comes to knowing how to dress for success. They just put the designated uniform on.....stains and all...... and don't think how dumb they actually look.
