ever since leaving the org 10+ years ago, i have often wondered about wearing a cross and if it is wrong to do.
i think the jw's see it as an idol, and i do know that the baptists actually pray to the cross because after i left the org, i became baptist for 2 years and they did pray to the big cross on the wall.
i'm not sure i believe that praying to the cross is such a good thing to do, but is wearing one as a symbol of my belief wrong?
Hmmm, let's see... you left the organization 10+ years ago? And you are worried as to wether it's wrong? Is there still a little influence here somewhere?
For some people crosses are actually sexy.
To other's it's a phallic symbol.
To other's it's a piece of jewelry
Choice is OBVIOUSLY yours

mama's bible.
four brothers left home for college, and they became successful doctors.
and lawyers and prospered.. .
OMG that's hillarious,
I got one:
An older priest from a catholic abby decided to invite a nearby, new upcoming priest for lunch. At lunch time the young priest couldn't help but notice the very attractive house attendant that was serving lunch. Lunch went without a hitch and both priests talked for hours.
Later that week the younger priest received a letter from the older priest. " I enjoyed having lunch with you very much, but I don't know how to say this. But the fact remains that after lunch the house attendant, brought to my attention that the silver gravy ladle was missing. "
Several days later the older priest receives a letter back. " I enjoyed lunch with you very much as well. But the fact remains that IF you were have slept in your own bed you would have noticed the silver gravy ladle"

i know the wtbts have bastardised the criteria for 'the time of the end' and 1914, but as far as i am aware, it will still come while those that were alive in 1914 (not necessarily of an understanding age lol) are still alive, yes?
now, if we give them all until they are 110 years old (quite generous of me don't you think), that means in 20 years time we should see the wtbts disappear (or at least be in rapid decline) as all of the anointed are pushing up daisies, and this wicked world is still alive and kicking.
suppose we could see an increase in field service at old folks homes!
The time of the end simply refers to the witnesses themselves. Babylon the Great, which houses ALL corrupt organized religions, that practice one thing and preach the other WILL be brought to ruin. In this case it will be due to the cost of lawsuits against the organization, from the thousands of families who have suffered child abuse.
Then the witnesses will say that 'prophecy' has gone into fulfillment, since Satan has now turned on them, as is stated in Ezekiel. But then nothing will happen, since they are finally out of the borg, and their eyes will be opened regarding the truth about the 'truth'.
We will then welcome then with open arms and say; Been there done that.

so we have our circuit overseer this week.
we're getting the crap kicked out of us (figuratively) for our meeting attendance.
we have attendance in the 70% range for some of our meetings.
Looks like a typical memorial to me?

at some point everyone asks these questions?
what is the meaning of life?
why has god let terrible things happen?
Why am I reading this post?

i used to love break time.
especially if it was afternoon service, and we stopped at taco bell.
i used to be damn good at eating tacos in the car without spilling anything.
Absolutely nothing. Never liked it ever.

Last CO visit I remember is that the 'new' guy wanted to put some 'charge' in the congregation. He actually stood in the back of the hall on his very first night and started to yell : "HELLO, I AM NEW HERE, IS THIS JEHOVAHS ORGANIZATION? THEN WHERE IS THE WELCOME DUE TO ME?"
From there on it all went down hill rapidly. He had a 'special needs' talk about hospitality and dig deep into your pockets to show some appreciation for jehovers arrangement in sending this very special blessed circuit overseer your congregation.
Barf !
