They feel that the GB is a sort of elder body that acts as a spokesman for all of the anointed, the FDS.
It is kind of like they self-appointed themselves to postions of control without consulting the other annointed.
this thread was inspired by another thread about "two classes of the annointed".
1 page 805. as we all know when the term faithful and discreet slave is used by the witnesses it is usually always about the governing body.
in most prayers we hear at the meeting we hear the brother asking jehovah to direct the fds.. notice who the insight book says the faithful and discreet slave is,.

my loyal-dub wife had a wonderful morning knocking on empty homes earlier this week.
last night she confided in me with an observation.
she has noticed what she perceives to be a "pioneer clique" in our congregation.
After my divorce from my first wife a young (30ish...) pioneer sister propositioned me. To say the least I was flabbergasted and didn't accept the proposition. Now I wonder if I should have accepted and maybe found out if pioneers were really special.
okay, i recently read "captives of a concept" by don cameron and i am utterly shocked, yet i feel so i don't know- hell, free!
this guilt of believing in "god's organization" and feeling as if i was losing something that in reality never even existed!
at first i felt so guilty, as if it was my issues that led me to my path of not having faith in the organization and in a sense always believed that i was just immoral and couldn't uphold the standards.
I Haven't read "Captives of a Concept" YET. I wanted to ask you though...Do you think this book will be an eye opener for a Catholic or Protestant?
Not regarding their own religion since what the book does is thoroughly dismantle the FDS doctrine as taught by the WTBTS. Believe me the book exposes the absolute fantasy of the FDS doctrine!
hot on the heels of behe's latest comes the aug,15 wt: what does design in nature reveal?
they even used a nautilus for their cover.
yikes.. cover:.
This really is a godless world, A couple of scriptures that come to my mind whenever I read God denying drivel sych as this are;
Psalms 14:1 The senseless one has said in his heart:"There is no God."
(Romans 1:18-23) . . .For God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who are suppressing the truth in an unrighteous way, 19 because what may be known about God is manifest among them, for God made it manifest to them. 20 For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable; 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God nor did they thank him, but they became empty-headed in their reasonings and their unintelligent heart became darkened. 22 Although asserting they were wise, they became foolish 23 and turned the glory of the incorruptible God into something like the image of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed creatures and creeping things.
Of course this is simply my opinion.
when i came to the realisation that my whole religious upbringing was in question and i was led to this site, i immediately wanted to get involved - i could see that there was a lot of caring, spiritual people here that had created an amazing community and i wanted to be a part of that community (to release some pent up feelings and to maybe help others in some way) but having read that many of you guys lurked for months and in some cases years before you finally posted - i'm intrigued as to why?????
was it selfishness - couldn't bring yourself to commit and be a part of the community, you were just content to observe?
was it laziness?
I post on occasion but quite often don't feel I have anything meaningful to add. Myabe this is why a lot of people lurk but don't post.
What is the significance of this post?
i received an email from a lawyer who has been studying with witnesses for some time.
he wanted to know my story, if i am disfellowshipped and if i have an axe to grind, in order to know if the information at jwfacts.com can be trusted.
i was raised a jw, my aunty and uncle, many cousins and grandparents are jws.
While my actions have not mirrored your's 100% (I'm still in), my feelings toward the WTBTS are amazingly in complete agreement with yours. Once a person begins thinking for themselves the journey to taking back control of their life also begins.
someone mentioned to me the other day about going door to door back when i was a jw.
"weren't you scared to do something like that, knock on a stranger's door?
actually it's been so long that i had almost forgotten.
My worst experience was while conducting a newly started Bible study. The man I was studying with was a Black Muslim and when I asked what was God’s name he said Allah. I calmly explained to him that Allah was a title not a name and that God’s name was Jehovah. He became very quiet and then told me that I was fortunate that he didn’t get up from his chair and cut my throat. I cut the study short (at that very point) and with heart in throat backed my way out the front door.
the tribulation is really starting to speed up it's pace.
i just read that atleast 3 types of animal and plant life go extinct every hour.
global warming threatens the entire planet, crimes against women and children are at a all time high, honeybees dying off for unexplained reasons, the threat of nuclear war, the ravage of infectious disease.
We must be careful lest the following apply to any of us (just being fair)
(2 Peter 3:3-4) . . .For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4 and saying: "Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning."
it's no wonder so many witnesses need medication since they must rely on the faithful slave do make decisions and do their thinking for them.. evidently jehovah changed his mind once again in the articles shown below and thanks to the fds they let the publishers in on it.. the watchtower march 1, 2002 p.30 .
is it correct to say that jehovah's mercy tempers his justice?.
although this expression has been used, it is best to avoid it since it seems to imply that jehovah's mercy softens or restrains his justice, as if his mercy were superior to the harsher quality of justice.
If I can get my wife to read the WT Flip Flops on Mercy tempering justice she'll be one step nearer admitting that the WTS is NOT God's organization. Thanks for the WT references.
