would they continue and have the meeting, or would they leave?.
Either the attorney goes or they go. Period. End of discussion. If you keep on insisting on having an attorney present, they will hold the JC meeting without you. Plain and simple. You have to plan by their rules, not what YOU think is right and fair.
Just record the JC meeting discreetly. That can be your 'second' witness.

Of course the WTS would do ANYTHING to retain their tax-exempt status. There is no way they could remain in business if they had to pay the state and IRS a cut of their non profits. Not to mention capitol gains on stocks, bonds, etc. I'm sure estate wills and trusts would be taxed pretty heavily too.
So they can go at this in two ways --- The first is to backtrack and say they were wrong about the two-witness rule(go against the bible?!? no way!) or, they can lose their tax-exempt status and start begging for more money from the pubs. My guess is what will always be the primary factor involved ---> REVENUE. So in this case, new light on the two-witness rule would be forthcoming. No more handling child abuse accusations internally. Every incidence of child abuse, false or not, will get reported to the authorities.
this is my first post and here's my story.. my father became a witness long ago and my mom remained a lutheran.
our attendance was sporadic due to mom's opposition.
they knew our mom was lutheran and that she kept us from attending many meetings.

Wasn't it originally God's law(in Deut.) to stone these apostates in the first place? How could Jesus' opinion override his father's command? Since when has Jesus' statements been placed above Jehovah's?
The WTS loves to bring up the issue of principles. They always refer back to the OT laws to back up their current doctrines. If it wasn't for these principles, JW's would be running around doing whatever they wanted to with free conscience. Hmmm....donating blood is the first thing that comes to mind.

Personally, if you compare this with other "award winning" boxing movies, I thought it was better than both Rocky and Million Dollar Baby.
an elders wife told my wife today that yes there are young anointed people because they are replacements for those who have fallen away.
she also said that if an anointed should fall away and then get reinstated they are still anointed.
i can just picture jesus spending 6 months or so picking out a suitable replacement in disgust at the one he picked first time around fell away.
What I find very funny is, how many old-timer anointed ones really fall away? If we follow the 1935 cutoff point, we're talking about folks who are in their 90's. I'm sorry, but I have never heard of a 90+something year old bro/sis getting whacked due to apostacy, let alone anything else.
If we account for the steady stream of replacements that have been accumulating over the past few decades, that 8k number isn't going away anytime soon. The mortality rate of those over 90 is increasing fast. The amount of replacements that are coming in are basically matching those who are falling away. If we follow the numbers alone, they tell us that just about every anointed person is indeed falling away. I wonder how the WTS would explain that one? Ooops, my bad - we don't know who the "real" anointed are and who are not. That's what the WTS would say...

Another word that i'm sick and tired of hearing is 'glean'I seriously laughed out loud at that!
Heh, me too. There have been a few times where that word has popped up in my vocabulary where it made me do a flinch and cringe. Really though, how many 'worldly' people do you hear using that word in casual conversation? If I hear it verbally spoken, I turn to see if the person saying it is a recognizable witness.

It feels soooo good to come out. I think posting your pic is pretty much the last stage of coming out. I'm sure many others here would like to, but cannot just yet. Hell, I was in that position for five years on this board. I finally got the nads to post my pic. Unfortunately, I guess I wasn't that famous while I was a JW. No one recognizes me. (unless all of my old friends are still hardcore jw's)

the way you can tell this is for a cga is to go to the website's site map and then click on the charitable annuity special permits link.
While I agree that the WTS is generally not charitable to those in the congregations, I just found it odd that they set up a CGA with a hospital -- one with a Saint's name no less!
I scoured their hospital sites and could not find any mention of a bloodless program. And they are not listed on the NoBlood.org's website. These two items tell me that they may have indeed broke their vow of not being charitable. The lack of responses thus far on a very busy afternoon also tells me that most folks don't want to hear about this type of news.
