Today I got a review that left me scratching my head - what do you make of it?
by Brock Talon inas a published author on amazon, i'm used to getting negative reviews from time to time.
it goes with the territory and i'm ok with it.
writing is an art form, so no art is liked by everyone.

Going Nuclear - Marriage
by Sofia Lose inhas anyone here gone nuclear on their spouse and, all of a sudden, came out in the open as a jw opposer?.
by this i mean, sitting them down and saying: i no longer want to be a jw anymore, do not want to go to meetings or preaching anymore!
and, what has happened in the relationship after that?.

My wife and I are still together.
I went nuclear.
Admitted apostasy and DF'd in absentia.
Yet, we are still together. She attends all the meetings and prepares her lessons.
I will never set foot in a KH again. It's not easy, but marriage is hard work.

I'm sick of...
by freemindfade ini'm sick of.... ...having an elder i barely know invite himself over to my house, and bring another asshole elder with him, you know, to "see how i'm doing" f-ck them.
...having same elder with all insincerity approach me at the beeting and before inviting himself over, ask, "how are you doing?
" then when i say everything is great, go ahead and invite them selves over anyway.

This is a topic that no doubt rattle around in many of our minds.
I didn't want to DA, either.
I didn't attend any J/C's or appeal their decision to DF me.It's only been a few days since the announcement and this is shaping up to be the best week in my life!
That being said, admitting apostasy and getting DF'd in absentia might be the best hope of waking up others that have known you for decades.
Shock the hell out of them!Making them DF you is by far the better course than DA'ing, in my opinion...

Exposing one's identity. When?
by kairos ini've been toying with the idea of just coming out and posting my name and location as an attempt to be available to locals that secretly browse the forum that have known me for up to 25 years.
( "reaching out", so to speak ).
i'm not da'd or df'd, so this most certainly could end in a dramatic confrontation.

They made their little announcement last night.
I realized this morning that I can now go on with my life free from JW distractions.
I actually feel pretty good.

I've decided to make a difference that REALLY matters
by Mrs. Eden inhello friends!today is a sad day for me, as seven months have gone by since my mother passed away after a decades-long fight with breast cancer..
because the witnessing/preaching/teaching work doesn't make any sense to me anymore; because it's not about any "truth"; and because it's basically useless, i've decided to quit doing it.
instead, i've decided to do something that actually can make a real difference in other people's lives.

Need clarification from someone who speaks JW: What is an "apostate" ...or... an "apostate website?"

I'm an apostate...
In the land that JWs dwell, I have , overnight, for some of them become scarier than Satan. Why? You can SEE me. I EXIST and may pop out from behind any random bush, shopping cart or trash pile.
Satan, eh?. He never shows up to anything.
As for web sites. Anything that is not directly coming from the "approved channel of communication"® is likely from an apostate source. ( unless it's FB, Google, Yahoo, Angry Birds, personal e-mail, etc and you are able to have enough "self control" not to type "jehovah" in a search window or you sit in your living room when using your computer ).
People in my town are going to SHIT when I engage them as if we are still friends.
I'll say, "I'm what?""You're no longer one of JWs"
"I haven't been for years and you spoke with me until Sept 10th, though?"
"I mean you're a DF'd apostate"...
"I missed that announcement"...
<hilarity ensues>

Back home from a night out.
We went to one of my rehearsals tonight. Big Band jazz/dance band.
Professional musicians and paid gigs. She dialed in and listened to just the announcement.
It made her very sad, but there is finally closure. We are spending some quiet time together and I don't have to work early.
---
After thought: Admit apostasy ASAP.
You get out, it shocks everyone else and might wake someone up to TTATT.
__
I half-expect the announcement to be made in the other Napa congregations, as this is fairly big.
