Not good enough, Vidqun.
apr 20, 2020. novak djokovic sparks a backlash after publicly opposing the covid-19 vaccine.
he says: “personally, i am opposed to vaccination, and i wouldn’t want to be forced by someone to take a vaccine in order to be able to travel.”.
asked by sky news australia anchor danica de giorgio why djokovic was granted the visa in the first place, the home affairs minister said: “they’re entirely separate processes”.. “to gain entry to australia you need both – you actually need the visa, which is determined quite separately, and then you have to meet the entry requirements,” she said.. “i know that people are putting the two issues together, but the visa application process and the granting of a visa is very separate to the additional entry requirements that every traveller needs to meet to be able to enter australia.”.

lots of great films in this decade, too.. the elephant man (1980).
the empire strikes back (1980).
the shining (1980).
@truth_be_known - yes, Blade Runner is a very good film.
Another classic - how could I forget - is Aliens (1986).
And I also think Predator (1987) is very good. I love the way it just switches genres halfway through. It starts as a dumb action movie then becomes a slasher movie. Very original.

Just heard Novak won his case and is allowed to play. A win for freedom, informed consent and natural immunity - yes, it would seem that Novak can play ... this time.
But what about the next slam, the French Open? Or how about next year's Auzzie Open?
There are many things which need unpicking, here.
Statements such as, 'politicians misuse statistics', 'lockdowns are a form of control', etc. are all good points worth discussing. But I feel they are side issues. And side issues can detract from the main issue.
When I boil all the side issues and background noise away, I'm left with the following:
The vaccine beliefs and vaccine status of Novak Djokovic are jeopardising his tennis career.
^^^ For me, this is the central issue that strikes right to the heart of the matter. And once I've realised this, then everything starts to become very clear, very quickly - like a TV picture swimming into focus.
Why is Novak sooo opposed to the vaccine? Is he against all vaccines, or just the Covid ones?
Let's do a quick thought exercise: put yourself in Novak's shoes.
You're 34 years old and already one of the all-time greats. You've got about 6 or 7 years left of playing tennis at the top level. That's 6 or 7 years to add grand slam titles to your current haul of 20. So, what are you gonna do?
TBH, the answer is screamingly obvious: get vaccinated. <--- that's what I'd do if I were in Novak's shoes. Get vaccinated, then I wouldn't have to go through this nonsense of staying in detention centres ever again.
Why doesn't Novak get the vaccine? I don't know - only he himself can answer. The rest of us can only speculate.

The Elephant Man (1980)
The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
The Shining (1980)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
The Thing (1982)
First Blood (1982)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
The Terminator (1984)
The Fly (1986)
Near Dark (1987)
I remember seeing The Elephant Man for the first time when I was seven. My mum had a book about Joseph Merrick, the real 'Elephant Man', and I looked at that a bit, including photos. The film was shown a couple of weeks later and I asked my mum if I could watched it. I remember her saying something like, 'are you sure? Are you sure you won't get scared?' I said, no, watched it, and got scared. It was the bit in the film where the young nurse is asked to bring him up his breakfast. Looking at it now, you just now what's coming, lol. It's a great film. A few years later, when I was 12, me and my dad went to Blockbuster video.
'What do you want to watch, Phil?'
And I came back to him with The Elephant Man, lol.
I've included Near Dark here because I just love this film. It's hard to get a copy and it wasn't commercially successful at the box office. But it's a great vampire film, one of my favourites (either Near Dark or Let The Right One In, if we're talking vampire films).

Both The Thing and The Fly are great examples of body horror films featuring spectacular practical effects. They must be two of the best horror films ever, I think.
Got any good ones I've missed?
I know I must have missed loads ...
i found this on exjwreddit.
a pimo elder is in the middle of an event where a former co allegedly kissed a brother from another hall.. the co denied it so the other elders are frustrated because they can't have a judicial meeting.
if true, can he be disfellowshipped?
I guess it depends on which part of their anatomy you kissed them
WHY?????? - because human beings have 'spirituality'.
Some pursue that thru the arts - poetry, film, and so forth.
Others through religion.
Personally, the WTS has made me very distrustful of all religions, but I can see why some people would go to a local church after the WTS.

Well, yeah, the story has kinda caught my attention, although I don't know the ins and outs of it.
Djokovic is right: nobody should be forced to have the vaccine.
But I also agree with you - foreigners wanna stay in another country? Then abide by that country's rules.
It'll be a shame if he is deported, a shame for tennis. Djokovic will probably end up with most grand slams out of him, Federer and Nadal.
after a conversation with hubby l started thinking about silly lyrics in songs , of which there are many .bang a gong by marc bolan is pretty daft , although apparently his lyrics are deep .
do you have any favourite daft lyrics?
.
Black Tambourine by Beck
ghislaine maxwell is on trial for grooming underage girls for sex and joining in, apparently.. her defence has recently finished, with maxwell declining to take the stand herself because she, in her words, 'doesn't need to as the prosecution haven't proved their case beyond reasonable doubt'.. that's for the jury to decide, ghislaine, lol.
.
doesn't it strike you as arrogant that she can't be arsed to stand up and speak in her own defence?.
@Resolute Bandicoot - that is still to come.
Hopefully she won't be 'suicided'.
I hope Prince Andrew is sh!tting himself now, lol. #ExtraditeAndrew
this wt doctrine includes the wrathful mass execution of individual children, babies and disabled belonging to the billions of non-jws... extremist?
"during the war of armageddon, jehovah will execute people, not in a cold, clinical manner, but in a “great rage.” (read ezekiel 38:18.
) he will direct the explosive force of his anger, not against one army or one nation, but against countless individuals living across the globe.
'Kindly' or a negative phrase such as 'hate-filled' doesn't come into it.
The end result is the same, ie lots of death and destruction.
