the following is a txt message i just had with a jw about why i decided not to attend meeting.
i fully realize that this will get me blocked.. jw : you dont want to answer me why you dont go to the meetings.. joe : ok.. (1) the 2 witness rule in the handling of a accusations of child sex abuse.. (2)the covering it up and out of court settlements that they are making to victims of sexual abuse.
unfortunatley the brothers and sisters are totally unaware of what is going on and the magnitude of it.. (3) the comments of geoffrey jackson when testifying before the australian royal commision on its handling of child sex abuse.
Elders have been alerted,
They will want to "talk" to you,
The purpose of this will be to determine if they will call a JC meeting
If they do, from what I've seen, this will be a formality,
The only way to avoid this is to "get out of Dodge"
PS they are not above BSing you,
I hope it turns out better for you but that's the way I see it,

maybe it was my mood, but last night the meeting seemed really over the top cultish.. mainly the latter portion that just focused on presentation videos which always seem creepy to me anyway.. then the local needs was pre-empted by a video all about ldc which seemed completely pointless.
(on a side note my wife knew a couple of different people in it).
the congregation "bible" study which dealt with the ever changing cover of the watchtower magazine.

think about this people, they are saying it was jesus who told us the end was going to come in 1975. then before the 1914 generation passed away no later than the 1990's.
My question to you is this:
When I was a JW I was taught this distinction,
The Bible and it's writers were INSPIRED,
Watch Tower writings are not,
The Bible cannot fail as it is "inspired"
Watch Tower writings can fail as they are not,
Governing Body (F&DS) have never claimed to be inspired by Holy Spirit
But only DIRECTED by Holy Spirit,
(Btw I believe this distinction to be soley a JW invention)
So if my memory serves me correctly
