If there is one thing you did learn from the Bible it is that GOD READS HEARTS and he knows what a miserable position this cult has put you in and does not hold you responsible for it.
If your heart is pure...that is all you need. Pay no attention to Ren she doesnt belong in either world and therefore can only make everybody in both camps as miserable as she is. We have nothing but compassion for her and hope someday that fence she is sitting on gets too hard to handle and she is freed of it.

nowhere in the bible does it say you should be a "publisher" and turn in your time if you preach.
they try to twist the scriptures by saying that numbers are constantly being recorded in the bible so then conforming to the rules of being a publisher is from the scriptures.. yeah, right..

I remember where I was when I heard Elvis Presley was dead in 1977. Like time stopped at that moment too. My husband at the time idolized Elvis deeply. And Elvis even with all his money and fame was extreeeeeemely unhappy. Surrounded by people who only want to ass kiss and give him whatever he wanted including a doctor prescribing med after med. Elvis deeply loved and missed his mom who died at age 42 way too young. And I believe he only wanted to be with his momma again and saw nothing else on the planet that could give him happiness but that.
I think Michael was in pain most of his life. The stage was his way of hiding from the pain for a little while but reality always comes back when the high wears off.
He wanted to be a dad and show that he could do a better job of it than his own dad did. I think he wanted to be a child because he was cheated out of being one. I think he loved God and always felt like he let God down too...
Its a miserable existence. At least now he isnt hurting any more.

Oh yeah....the guy who "brought me into the truth" was madly in love with himself. He sang with a group of JWs in a "Witness band" and would sing at worldly night clubs and was sleeping with half the wait crew at all of them. He would throw big all JW parties and be the DJ. He drove a pop top hot red sports car with a Fuzz Buster on the dashboard. He would park in the handicapped spot because, he would say with a laugh, "Why waste the spot? We dont have any handicapped people in our congregation!" He was disfellowshipped for sleeping with several sisters. He had a five state wide following of double lifers who all covered for each other. He was reinstated and then was caught online doing cybersex and was part of an S&M group of JWs all sharing disgusting web sites with each other. He was only reproved for that because the brothers didnt know how else to handle techo-sex.
Yeah..his wife on whom he admitted cheating a minimum of five times, including the first month he was married...finall divorced his ass.

I just had a JW post on my Facebook page that "at least now Michael will be ressurected because he was once a Jehovahs Witness"
Um...doesnt that particular honor go to ANYBODY who dies before armageddon? JW or NOT??? geeezzzzz...bandwagon jumping. They even want credit for the guy after HE'S DEAD. I wonder where all those gung ho JWs were when the guy was on trial for molestation? I betcha they WERENT going yeah...he was one of US once!

Well I loved his music. Loved to watch him dance. You couldnt help but get up and move when his tunes were played. But as for his obsession with little kids and his VERY questionable "sharing of his bed" policy which he said out loud was the "most loving thing you could do"...I totally blame on his upbringing, his JWism, his abusive father and basically not HAVING a childhood. He grew up hating himself. Nobody would go through 50 or more plastic surgery procedures to change their looks so drastically if they had even a modicum of love for themselves.
I had pity for him. Anger at times...but the EXJW in me totally felt sorry for him. Now he finally is at peace. And I have to think he knew this was coming. Ever since his trial during which he was VERY frail and was hospitalized, his health has deteriorated.
No way in hell he could have pulled off that concert tour he was planning. Had he lived a couple months longer, the first two performances would have killed him.
RIP Michael. Now come back and haunt the shit out of the Governing Body wouldja please?

Long time reader.....first time poster

my mom converted when i was 3 years old in 1975, my wife was born after her parents converted.
about 4 years ago however, my wife and i have seen many things that have discouraged us enough to start doing some research into the validity of this religion.

Welcome and please take a BIIIIIG HUG from me because we all SO get what you are going through. But I agree with the posters who said not to jump into feeding your inlaws antijw stuff to prove your position because that will quickly get the door slammed, and not only will your wife lose her mother, your daughter will lose her grandparents.
Take a deep breath and start planning your fade. Your daughter is not a baptized JW. If she wants to sing songs she can sing whatever her little heart wants to. She is in SCHOOL of COURSE she is going to learn those songs! That doesnt mean YOU are responsible for that does it? :)
I know JWs who sing along with Christmas songs too. (when they think nobody hears them!)

Well we either loved loving him or loved hating him...but either way he played a part in our lives. Particularly as JWs. "was he or wasnt he" "did he buy his way back into the organization?" "did he ever have sex with anybody?" "did he molest those kids or live vicariously through them the childhood he never had?"
Rest in peace Michael...your final performance was sooner than you thought it would be.

Ok...TRUTH never changes. Not ever. Its 100% irrefutable. So...how does the JWs version of "truth" stand up to that definition? Um...IT DOESNT.
If you speak FOR GOD then you are saying that GOD LIED if you now have a different understanding on anything you touted as TRUTH before this. Or did God decide "YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!!" spitting big godly spit balls on you the GB member as he withheld the REAL truth from you...
God changes his mind??? God gave one truth to Jesus, one truth to Russell another truth to Rutherford and still different "truth" to "modern day" JWs?
