Brother Knorr ( former WTBTS president) flying first class on an airliner and sitting next to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton

We heard stuff like that all the time. You know the dubbies are going to be having rumors now about Celine Dion being a JW, because of that CD that someone thought was her singing Kingdom songs.

When we were in Poland in 1989 for the special assemblies, we heard several stories about GB guys being on trains with Yeltsin (Russian PM), Lech Walesa (the President of Poland at that time) and other famous Eastern European people. All untrue. One was even given as an experience at our CA a few months later. We already knew it wasn't true before that. Why they let that one slip in, is beyond me.

When we left Poland, there was a famous Polish singer on our flight. She sat right behind us, next to two other JW's we chatted with all the way to England. There were thousands of people at the airport, cheering and waving madly, and I thought they were there to see all of us off. Joke was on me. Her name was Basha, or something like that. Nice, very sweet young gal. She was heading to Los Angeles to appear on an awards show. I had no idea who she was and was pretty surprised when I started hearing about this Polish sensation.

How about the one where Jesus returned in 1914 to set up his kingdom here on earth.

Remember hearing that someone sent Princess Di and Charles a copy of the the Family Life book when they got married and they sent the witness a thank you note. Everyone was waiting for a return visit and study to ensue.

I believe I've posted this one before but it is just great. Was told of stories of single sisters being harassed by demons that had sex with them because they had watched movies or done something basically that was connected with Satan and the occult. Although this was meant to scare me, being a teenager deprived of dating, sexual contact, and permission to masturbate, it actually came across as slightly erotic. Hey if it happened who could say that you committed fornication, i mean a demon can hold you down and cover your mouth so you can't call out Jehovah's name until after you climax. Hehehe!!!! Call me twisted if you will. We all have a little kinky in us.

i remember hearing if you played with a ouija board demons would bug you .. so me and 2 other good lil 12 yr old witness gals got us a ouija board to try out.. demons evidently didnt like us and the damn thing didnt work! so much for that!

    I remember the Ouija boards,

the theory that if anything was happening all you had to do was yell out JEHOVAH as loud as you could and the angels would come and protect you,

The Princess Di and Charles getting the Family Life book

Couldn't watch any Disney movie with "magic" in it, or else you would open yourself up to being demonized... no Tinker Bell, no "bibbi-di-bopp-ity-boop" in Cinderella, can you imagine? I love magic... it's very magical!

I loved how women had to dress "appropriately" because if they didn't and had skirts that were above the knee, a man could become so sexually aroused that he would want to commit fornication and that he wouldn't be able to stop himself... that is why we all had to be MODEST!

the one about the two big bulky angels protecting a sister from being raped when she knocked on some maniacs door......I'm foggy on the details but that one has been around for a long long time.

I heard this one about 50 years ago. The sisters had been to his door but he didn't rape them because he said there were 2 men with them but he raped another woman who came to his door a little later.

I played with a Ouija board when I was about 10...............didn't know I wasn't supposed to. It said I would get married at 17 to a man named David. Hmmmm. I did both.

Interestingly, I had several boyfriends named David, over the years too. I always wondered if it was "that" David.

I heard rumors that Johnny Carson and Glen Campbell were JWs or studying (not true).

I heard that Brother Knorr sat next to the Pope on a plane and witnessed to him (not true, I asked Brother Knorr, who laughed).

I heard about the Smurf jumping off the chair at the KH and running out...that was mentioned from the DC stage as being untrue and that people should stop spreading it.

How about the stories where a JW just happened to call after someone prayed to God for help...how about all the people who prayed and the Mormons called or no one called.

How about the story that candy bars were made with blood...no matter how many JWs checked with the companies, there were some that figured the companies were lying. (don't confuse me with the facts JWs)

And it never ends, e.g., Celine Dion singing Kingdom song #54 with George Benson...a non-JW Catholic woman singing at a Gilead graduation....

How about the one where some Witness was watching Bewitched and the same thing that popped up in Samantha Steven's living room, popped up in the Witness' living room. Of course, once she yelled out "Jehovah", it disappeared. Ditto for those that watched I Dream of Jeannie.
